The Scout: A-League Week 24 Posted on April 14, 2022April 14, 2022 | Posted by The Scout Western United vs Perth Glory Western United have managed to hold on to their second placed position despite only managing one win in their last six A-League matches. They will be looking for some relief as they take on bottom placed Perth Glory who have not won a match in 16 fixtures. Perth Glory will undoubtedly end the 2021-2022 A-League season as the worst team in the competition. They aren’t doing much right, but goal scoring is by far their biggest struggle, going goalless in seven of 16 matches. Suggested Bet: Western United FC Win to Nil @ $2.20* Newcastle Jets vs Melbourne Victory The Newcastle Jets (9th) have found some form with three wins from their last five matches, including a 6-1 drubbing of bottom placed Perth. Meanwhile Melbourne Victory (3rd) are proving incredibly hard to beat, going undefeated in 10 straight A-League matches. Victory coach Tony Popovic has always valued defense above all else, and this has been on full display throughout their season. Melbourne Victory has the best defensive record in the league, conceding just 20 goals in 21 matches. Suggested Bet: Melbourne Victory to Win @ $2.40* Wellington Phoenix vs Central Coast Mariners Wellington Phoenix (5th) come into this match on a two-game win streak which includes a 1-0 win over Perth Glory and a dominant 4-1 away win over Western United, while the Central Coast Mariners (8th) overcame a red card and a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Western Sydney. Both sides have shown a desire to attack which can result in goals being scored against them on the counter. For the Phoenix, this was on full display the last time they played Central Coast which saw the Mariners win 5-0. Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 Goals @ $2.55* Market Market
