Scott Embry’s Saturday Leinster Preview

Race 1

TEDESCHI should be too speedy for these. Third to Lady Mayflower and Rhaenya over 1000m at Carnarvon and then three starts later at Leonora led over 1200m before being run over by Shimari (who was odds on). Back to 1000m, Tara Atherden’s 3kg claim and straight to the front. LEG GODT had her first start for new trainer Peter Bamford at Moora and faded back through the field after showing some early dash. She’ll come out positive and be improved for the outing. LOVE OF FAR FA could be really run off her legs early? SAMBUCA ROSE similarly comes out of the Landor picnics.

Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 4

Suggested Bet – TEDESCHI WIN

Race 2

MAGIC MONEY has his first start in WA and is on the fresh side after a 5 start prep in Victoria. At his most recent he ran second at Packenham over 1200m when parking up on speed and going down by three quarters of a length. Drops 3kg off that into a Leinster 55+ and expect that he’ll be popular in betting. POWER TO RULE held off the late challenge of Alotofbanter at 1200m last weekend at Leonora. On the 7 day spin he can win again provided he finds the top. INTOXICATING never travelled at any stage last weekend. Hopefully 7 days later she jumps a bit cleaner so that she can settle over the speed like she did at Junction. CASINO ROYALE is a model of consistency and rarely far from the winner in this grade.

Numbers: 7 – 4 – 2 – 3

Suggested Bet – MAGIC MONEY WIN

Race 3

TINY CHAMPION is an 11 start maiden but these Class B races are nearly the same level of quality/depth. Ran well behind subsequent winners Quick Cookie and Danea Rock at Mingenew and then ran third to Shimari and Tedeschi (favourite in Race 1) last weekend at Leonora. Knocking on the door. GINGERIFFIC tried hard in the Class B Trophy Race at Leonora last weekend when running second to Racy Rascal. She showed a bit of early gate speed and so hopefully 7 days later at Leinster she can get out cleanly and hold a spot from the inside. I AM A ROCKSTAR made his WA debut last week and was just behind Tiny Champion. GIGI GOGO is yet to really find any dirt legs.

Numbers: 3 – 4 – 1 – 5

Suggested Bet – TINY CHAMPION EACHWAY

Race 4

BLOWIN SMOKE ran second here at Leinster last year and this time around looks to be going even better. Third to Repeater and Western Impact in this grade at Mingenew and then ran second to stablemate Danea Rock in this grade last week in a race where they cleared out a 10L margin from third. On the 7 day spin, apprentice to Kyra Yuill and only rises 1kg week to week. Looks a nice set up for him. ADDICTIVE DREAM couldn’t complete the hattrick at Leonora last weekend but still ran well behind Power to Rule and Alotofbanter. That form is on show throughout the earlier part of the meeting. HOT NOVA won by 6L on both days at Landor but may be without a rider? LADY COCO ran well behind Mars Mission and Coondle two back. 1400 just may be a stretch?

Numbers: 5 – 2 – 7 – 8

Suggested Bet – BLOWIN SMOKE WIN

Race 5 (Best Bet)

CLIMB ON TOP looked the best at Moora and duly saluted and now again looks the best at Leinster. He won under 60.5kg in Broome on Ladies Day, he won under 59kg at Moora and now he’ll have to carry 61.5kg after the claim of Ebony Johnson but he’s turning into a dirt specialist and he travels when many others start to struggle in the conditions. Even under the big weight looks the one to beat. OUR KIWI PRINCESS isn’t at the same level ability wise but she’s got a 6.5kg weight pull on him and at Leinster you can wind up and make a run which suits her. REPEATER and SHASFA are both jump and run types who will ensure a genuine tempo from start to finish.

Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 6

Suggested Bet – CLIMB ON TOP WIN

Race 6

WESTERN IMPACT was a really good run in the Leonora Cup. They were never catching Boab Boy, but with his early withdrawal to save for Laverton next weekend it really opens up as a winnable race for him. Interesting to know whether Kyra Yuill jump off or whether Ray Malpass wanted to claim, but either way with only 54kg after the Sharni Webster claim expecting him to go close. GOT LUCKY has contested 2x Leinster Cups previously and has a win and a runner-up performance to his name. He showed at Mingenew that there’s still life in those 9 year old legs and he’ll be right in the market here. RULER ROCKET needs to run out 1600m, that’s the unknown. DEAL OBTAINED won’t know himself with 55kg after carrying 70+ at Landor!

Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 5

Suggested Bet – WESTERN IMPACT WIN
