Scott’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on November 24, 2017November 24, 2017 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 RHI’S ROCKET should be able to find the front, control, dictate and go very close to winning this race. GET OVER IT has a number of important gear changes as well as Smith’s number 1 rider aboard. HELMS GATE goes better fresh than his numerical record suggests. REMEMBER BERLIN should have no excuse from the gun draw. Numbers: 5 – 9 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – RHI’S ROCKET WIN SuperPick - Race 1 No. 5 RHI'S ROCKET - Win Boost Race 2 WAR JEUNE goes well off this kind of break and should position up outside of the leader. He is always hard to run down. TRAVELLIN’ gets a massive weight swing on him for a previous encounter. GUNNAGO rises sharply in trip and weight but is all class. CASH ON CALL won off a very similar spacing two starts ago. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – WAR JEUNE WIN SuperPick - Race 2 No. 2 WAR JEUNE - Money Back Race 3 IT’S IT rises up in distance but there is not a lot of exposed speed in this race. Hoping that Oliver can find the front and settle him then he should be there for a long way. MR UTOPIA was an eye catcher first-up and has been kept fresh for this. TRADESMAN has his fair share of issues but is super talented. BOLLYWOOD BLITZ was never a chance in a farcical Ascot Gold Cup. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – IT’S IT EACHWAY SuperPick - Race 3 No. 3 IT'S IT - Place Boost Race 4 VOLKOFF backs up off 7 days from arguably the best sprinting form lines in Western Australia. She should find the outside at the top of the straight and take some holding out. METEOROID may lob outside the lead and from there she is tough as old boots. CELEBRITY DREAM will rattle late. CRYSTAL FOUNTAIN may cross and lead. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – VOLKOFF WIN SuperPick - Race 4 No. 2 VOLKOFF - Win Boost Race 5 HARD OF HEART was enormous first-up this preparation and equally as good behind the ultra-talented Fabergino. He goes mighty close here. COGNAC probably goes round at overs because he simply didn’t stick out the distance of the Fairetha. OCEAN JEWEL was widely spruiked as the best filly in WA before she came to Ascot. IN LOVE WITH PARIS was far from disgraced last time out. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – HARD OF HEART WIN SuperPick - Race 5 No. 5 HARD OF HEART - Win Boost Race 6 TRAP FOR FOOLS has been putting on a clinic at his recent staying assignments and he should do very similar here. Finds the front, rolls from the 1000m marker and says ‘catch me if you can’. ALREADY FAMOUS gets a considerable weight swing on him. ROYAL STAR is probably ready for this type of trip. SHINTA MANI is better suited here than she was last start. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – TRAP FOR FOOLS WIN SuperPick - Race 6 No. 7 TRAP FOR FOOLS - Win Boost Race 7 ACHERNAR STAR should get the best run in the race close handy to the speed. DEBELLATIO gets a much more economical run than his first-up assignment. ART SERIES was an impressive Champion Fillies winner. PERFECT JEWEL is drawn woefully but has an impressive turn of foot when right. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 13 – 14 Suggested Bet – ACHERNAR STAR EACHWAY Race 8 TOM MELBOURNE is a much maligned galloper. Gets his chance to prove he is not just a bridesmaid and should get every possible opportunity to grab Group 1 glory. BLACK HEART BART must lump a huge weight but he is the best horse in this field. COSMIC STORM is the best of the local hopes for mine. If she lobs four back the fence can cause a boil over. SCALES OF JUSTICE is all class. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – TOM MELBOURNE WIN Race 9 SEE ME SIZZLE should park right over the top of the speed and we can expect William Pike to really let him down at the top of the straight. PUSHIN’ SHAPES is extremely well weighted after the 3kg claim and puts himself right there care of his gate speed. FIRST AFFAIR was the best run in the York Cup and goes close. POINT next best from the box seat. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – SEE ME SIZZLE WIN Quaddie (Races 6 – 9) 7,8,9 1,2,3,13,14 1,2,3,9,14,16 2,4,5,8,10 Bet Now *A maximum of one SuperPick on an individual race. Available online only. Terms & Conditions apply. Fixed Odds ‘Singles’ bets only. Excludes NSW, VIC & SA residents. Gamble responsibly.
