Scott Embry’s Wednesday Bunbury Preview Posted on December 4, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 VINTAGE STOCK was crunched in betting first-up without a trial. He was sent forwards and found the fence on a day where it was poison. Big forgive run. Has the cutaway or leads here. DAWN ARMADA comes from a relatively strong 1400m race and after the claim is very well weighted. MANKIND bounced back to form last start after a couple of disappointing runs. BLUE SANDGROPER looked to have some ability at trials. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – VINTAGE STOCK WIN Race 2 SHADOW HUNTER has trialed well enough without being fully tested or knocked around and if he can settle leader’s back in a small field without a lot of speed and take the cutaway could give a cheeky sight. TRULY GREAT is out of a former very sharp race mare who won 3 from 4 career runs. Trialed well for his debut and will have plenty of supporters. CHOSEN ART was far from disgraced on debut and improves. MELTEME was sharpened up with a 400m jump out and looked good. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – SHADOW HUNTER WIN Race 3 BARAMAGIC has Noske on, blinkers on and drawn the cutaway. Was a big run on debut in a nice 3 year old race which has already produced a subsequent winner. Finished off well and gets his chance here. BENNY BEAU has come back a different horse this preparation and looks to have finally found a suitable assignment. FLYING TARGET is rarely far away from them and deserves to break through this preparation. Comes from three strong form races. PICK YOUR BATTLES could be better suited out to this trip. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – BARAMAGIC EACHWAY Race 4 HYPERSPACE was very well supported and duly saluted in a moderate to weak Narrogin maiden. Form hardly jumps off the page, however, should be right on top of the speed and if can stay could be hard to reel in. BLOOMY’S SUN was big in defeat behind Habari last start on a day which did not suit leaders. Leads or box seats and looks like getting the trip. DRINK THE RAINBOW is very consistent and ran into two reasonable nice ones her last two. TRIPLE EXPRESS comes late from well back. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – HYPERSPACE WIN Race 5 LICKETY SPLIT lead them up in a Graduation 1400m at the end of last preparation and gave a mighty sight. First-up this preparation was a nice run in an unsuitable 1100m. Second-up, Stone on, leads and is very hard to catch. FRIARANDICE bolted in first-up and then was a touch stiff second-up. Drawn a gate and Parnham on, takes beating. SCANDAL MAKER won well last start when he finally got a run. Smothered up waiting for the cutaway he is a chance to win again. BLACK FREDA as a stayer fresh can charge late. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – LICKETY SPLIT WIN Race 6 RETOSONA is no doubt suited over further but if she can get across from a wide gate and sit at worst in the breeze then she should be giving this a shake. Her Saturday 3 year old form is very strong for a race like this. KENTOO was in good form last preparation without winning. Can lead or box seat and gets his chance. STORMY ORA only just got them last start but that form has proven relatively strong. Gets it easier from the gate. DEHEUNE was well supported last start when ridden out from the gate. Gets every possible again. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – RETOSONA EACHWAY Race 7 UNIBRO was a big winner on debut on Melbourne Cup day when tramping wide throughout and then sent to the fence on a day where you simply had to be three or four horses off to win. Effort in defeat massive and this looks an easier race again. EUPHONIOUS broke through for a well deserved win last start. Has been consistent all preparation. YOU AM I went well first-up and has run some handy races in his career. UNIVERSAL WARRIOR is a little unknown, won well on debut last year. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – UNIBRO WIN Race 8 ROYAL STRATA ticks plenty of boxes, backing up off 6 days, dropping back in trip and drawing a gate. Should be going close in this. THE REAL ZEEL showed a bit more last start and looks to be improving. SON OF BACCHUS held them off at York and should control the tempo again. TIPS AND SCANDALS was reasonable at Albany and has the cutaway on offer. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – ROYAL STRATA WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,5 1,4,5,7 1,2,3,7 1,2,3,4 Market Market
