Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 24, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 IMPASSABEEL showed some staying potential last start. Was held up behind tiring leaders and got to the outside late in the piece. This is a very weak maiden and Paul Tapper’s yard is going well. UNDER THE ARCHERS has had 18 outings and is yet to crack it. This is one of his weakest assignments. SAMANTHA’S TWITCH covered ground last start and gets the services of W.Pike at 53.5kg as a 3 year old filly. APACHE RABBIT ran well last start. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – IMPASSABEEL WIN Race 2 GLOBAL GOSSIP may not be able to beat the impressive trailer Levitate or progressive Peters filly Real Beauty but at the price is worth a nibble on the places side. Should bounce the gate and take up a prominent position in running and impressed at trials. Stable in white hot form. LEVITATE is one that all trial watchers would have thrown straight into the black book after a dominant display in brilliant time. If he finds the breeze it might be over early. REAL BEAUTY concedes a big head start but stretched a nice one last time out. CAPTAIN KINK has only had the one trial but travelled strongly throughout to score. Numbers: 13 – 5 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – GLOBAL GOSSIP PLACE Race 3 POSITION OF POWER looks the hardest to beat in an even 1000m dash. Drew wide off the back of an impressive trial and was caught four deep the trip. From the better gate he should park forward of midfield and prove too strong. SCANDOLO jumps out well and likely positions just off the speedy Great Southerner Swanky Lass and gets a nice run. FRIDAY FILLIES is bursting to win a race but her racing pattern makes things tough. ANGELIQUE’S FAME is thrown in the deep end but looks to have a motor. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – POSITION OF POWER WIN Race 4 SCINTILLATING is perfectly placed to break back into the winners enclosure and score win #2 at start 32. Is racing in career best form and the last three starts have been simply eye catching in C3, 60+ and 60+ grade. Most recent was a better run than Trump This. Sits midfield and should be saluting. PRECIOUS CARGO sits on speed and drops back in trip. AMILLIONITE box seats for the in-form rider of the state. PORPHYRIO should get it soft. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – SCINTILLATING WIN Race 5 GRAND DESIGN went for home before the corner first-up and was nailed by a progressive mare in Pletto. Last start drew wide and found traffic issues in a Saturday Graduation. Back to midweeks, drawn a gate, she is versatile and at the price should prove an eachway bet to nothing. CHECKERS is well placed in this C3. Has been running well in far tougher races than this for last 12 months. I’M ICEY comes from a race 7L above benchmark. Back in trip, leads and takes running down. NERODIO is going through his grades but draws to do it tougher than recent runs. Numbers: 10 – 4 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – GRAND DESIGN EACHWAY Race 6 GILLESPIE has been extremely well supported at every single outing this campaign and favourite backers will be searching deep into their pockets if they’ve been following him. He does a lot wrong and races without luck but the man who can create luck jumps aboard. STRATOCREED never really saw daylight in Saturday grade last time out. REALISE POTENTIAL can give cheek if finding the front. SHARPBOB comes out running to take up a position and is going well. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – GILLESPIE WIN Race 7 LOCOMOTIVE comes from what could prove a very strong form reference behind Cockney Crew. Back in grade, back in trip and reunited with Jade McNaught who could win on a broomstick at the minute. Takes up a position and should prove hard to beat. SWIFT MIRAGE ran some impressive closing sections first-up and draws soft. NORDIC KING draws a gate and has Pike on but needs to improve. STRASMORE crosses and runs. Can give cheek. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – LOCOMOTIVE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2 1,4,5,6,7,10 3,9 1,3,9,10 Market Market
