Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 10, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 LOOKS LIKE MAGIC has been slowly but surely building towards a maiden victory. Some of her overall midfield form has actually been super and at her most recent she put in a good run. Even maiden and she’s in the mix. VENA SCHNITZEL should get every opportunity from a gun draw. BERET was the target of strong support last start when finding a few speedy ones a bit sharp. Draws poorly but the step up in trip suits. POWDERBELLE showed glimpses in her 2 year old campaign. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – LOOKS LIKE MAGIC EACHWAY Race 2 POWER OF ST GEORGE trialed like a horse who would be winning on debut but did a fair few things wrong, raced greenly and ran into a pretty handy one in Eurotrip. Shades on, race experience, really does look the winner. SHADOW SHIFTER draws soft, has the cutaway on offer and gets in under the radar. Can surprise a few of these. REAL BEAUTY ran well enough on debut and most of the cerise and white horses improve sharply at their second outing. MY HIDDEN JOURNEY has been trialing particularly well for a return to the races. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – POWER OF ST GEORGE WIN Race 3 PLETTO won first-up like a horse who would go through the grades. This is not a strong C3 by any stretch and she does look like she will graduate from this to bigger and better things. Showed ability last prep but looks to have come back even better again. FAMILY DISCUSSION comes from the same race and it would be no surprise to see him find the top and improve sharply. INFILTRATOR has been racing well at Kalgoorlie. OLIVIA KNOWS had no luck last start. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – PLETTO WIN Race 4 GALIBA draws to sit close handy and has a senior engaged. The maiden win was strong and then never got into the race last start at 1400. Has shown glimpses of staying ability in the past and can give a sight at a price. PRECIOUS CARGO had her first start at a staying trip when leading them up and fighting on bravely in defeat behind the talented Too Close The Sun. BLOOM AWAY was the beneficiary of a brilliant W.Pike staying ride to score a maiden victory last start. HIGHEST REGARD box seats behind Precious Cargo or takes up the running and is tough. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – GALIBA EACHWAY Race 5 KELLY’S SECRET showed two starts back that he was more than simply a wet tracker. He got the job done on a Good4 3 lengths above benchmark. He stepped into a Grad 60+ last start and ran well in a blanket finish. SLICED BREAD returns to the races with some strong 3 year old form. Interesting to see where Brad Parnham lands in the run but the horse is easily talented enough. NORDIC KING should get every mortal hope up the cutaway. TAP THE GO GO is consistent and honest and never far from the winner. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – KELLY’S SECRET WIN Race 6 FRIDAY FILLIES is a get back and run on type of 1000m sprinter. Shades go on for the first time and she was a big run fresh behind Olga Louisa and beating home Citichant before getting well out of her ground and flashing late. If she can position just a pair closer than usual she’ll put herself into the finish. JENJA won well at Northam first-up off the back of a good trial. THE FINEST has been back to trials since a 1000m straight win and looks to be progressive. LACEVINSKY has solid Saturday 3yo form and could be simply too speedy if Azzopardi finds the front. Numbers: 6 – 10 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – FRIDAY FILLIES EACHWAY Race 7 CHECKERS is historically not known as a 1000m horse and not known as a fresh horse but his runs for Monica Tyson have been excellent. First-up last preparation sat three deep the trip when third to M’Lady and Chinetti. Trialed well and can give this a shake at double figures. STABLE SECRET comes from a white hot stable and will be right over the speed. SHE’S VITAL looks the ideal cutaway horse. Three back the fence, no weight, up the rail. SHARPBOB usually puts in a big run when the shades go back on. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – CHECKERS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,5,6,7,8 1,2,3 1,3,5,6,9,10 6,7,8,9,10 Market Market
