Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on October 9, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PRINCE OF PROMISES ran second on three consecutive occasions last preparation and gets another wonderful chance to break through. Trialed well in blinkers and should position up from the gate. WAKAN TANKA can lead or sit leaders back and gets every possible chance here. GREAT CHARADE also has nice two year old form to his name and trialed well for his return. Drawn awkwardly. STARES ANDWHISPERS has ability but is not showing it this preparation so far. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – PRINCE OF PROMISES WIN Race 2 PRINCESS PIERRO is arguably the best credentialed maiden filly in WA. Gets back from the draw and 1000m is definitely on the limit for her but class should rise to the top and she can break through here. OVERTHRONE did it extremely tough on debut and should improve for the outing. Capable of playing a part at odds. WARZACHANTZ is not drawn as well as last start but does look progressive. GLOBAL RESET gets back in races and will unwind late. Numbers: 4 – 11 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – PRINCESS PIERRO WIN Race 3 THE BIG SHOW has obviously had issues, 35 days between runs and back to trials in between but his overall race form is outstanding for this. Blinkers on, should roll to the top of at worst sit in the breeze and prove too big, too strong. AMERICAN JOY is no doubt looking for further but can sprint well fresh and her recent trial was excellent. ZETORIO has won two on the bounce and looks to be getting better and better with racing. WATCH ME NEY NEY is drawn woefully but trialed well and can make a late run at them. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – THE BIG SHOW WIN Race 4 YOUNG THOR and UNCLE LINO both drop out of a strong Saturday staying race back into Class 3 company and they look to hold the key to another tricky race. UNCLE LINO is drawn far better than his main rival and should box seat behind the speed. YOUNG THOR has put together three consecutive quality efforts finishing just outside the placings. He gets his chance here. KELLY’S SECRET was knocked around badly in the home straight, forgive. TWENTYTHREE RED can go on with it over this kind of trip. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – UNCLE LINO EACHWAY Race 5 TRUE ATTRACTION is probably looking for further than this but they should really skip along out in front and he will be the last man standing. If they’re making ground he is right in it. CITICHANT is going to be a massive query at the trip but should slide across and take up the running in a fairly moderate field. Worth consideration. SOY TAN RAPIDO comes out of maiden grade but draws gate 1 and can lead or tow ball Citichant. SHAPITA has blinkers added. Only a moderate trial. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 10 – 6 Suggested Bet – TRUE ATTRACTION WIN Race 6 THE NICCONIAN finally broke through for win number two after being astutely placed back into midweek grade. Draws the perfect alley for him to sit in the box seat and gets a great chance to make it two on the bounce. CUP NIGHT has always promised to do what he did last start. He is one worth following and this is winnable. BUCKTORIO gets 3.5kg on The Nicconian and is far better suited over 1200m. M’LADY is the X-Factor runner. Drawn in the outside gate but the barrier trail was excellent. Should measure up. Numbers: 3 – 10 – 9 – 13 Suggested Bet – THE NICCONIAN WIN Race 7 BLUE TRACER was a strong first-up winner in a moderate Northam maiden and then followed it up with a huge effort in Class 1 company. Held up at crucial stages, knocked around and still finished off powerfully. 3kg claimer replaced by Jarrad Noske. Gets the nod every day of the week. JAMIE’S LINC was a nice run last start in a reasonable form race and will likely open a bigger price than he should. PROZONE should be the big improver stepping up to a more suitable trip and may lead. MEKONG DEN is still a maiden but all three runs this preparation have been excellent Numbers: 2 – 5 – 7 – 14 Suggested Bet – BLUE TRACER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,4,5 2,5,6,7,10 3,9,10,13 2,7,14 Market Market
