Scott Embry’s Thursday York Preview Posted on November 21, 2018November 21, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MONASH goes very well at York and in this field should get a sit on the speedsters from the gate. First-up did well to get across from a tough gate and fought on well. FREECELL will be powering home late. Only won 1 from 17 but this is the easiest assignment he has seen in a long time. Well supported on a few occasions last preparation. NOBELIUM should get a midfield run and is going well. ICE MAKER works in the breeze and fades late. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – MONASH WIN Race 2 STARES ANDWHISPERS is a hard horse to ride and to follow. Has ability and comes out of a very fast run 1100 at Ascot back to a maiden at York. Sure to be short, and risky, but could also run them ragged. LUKE’S CHOICE trialed well and can give a sight on debut. ALL THAT SIZZLE likely sits in the box seat and gets first crack at the leader. OOGA CHAKA is drawn awkwardly, forget that she went round on debut. Trials are all good. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – STARES ANDWHISPERS WIN Race 3 SMART FOX looks like the winner on paper. First ride back for William Pike and drawn a plumb alley to sit leader’s back and pounce or even lead them up. Trial was sensational and she should salute. WHISPERIT has showed ability in her short career. Race she contested on debut has produced three subsequent winners. RUBIX CUBE went well at the track first-up and that’s a big plus. OLIVIA KNOWS is always there abouts but she is not that tough. Numbers: 7 – 10 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – SMART FOX WIN Race 4 VITAL DANCER was a huge drifter first-up, showed less than normal gate speed and tramped wide the trip. Got beaten a long way but with a senior rider back aboard should be a sharp improver. INVISIBLE PRO should give Kate Southam every chance to notch her first career win. Been trialing well without shades. PRESENTATIE has contested exclusively harder than this her whole career. ORANGE STRUDEL can never be left out and last start was strong. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – VITAL DANCER WIN Race 5 COUNTRY FOX is a 9 year old mare who has had 32 attempts to break her maiden but on paper at least it looks as though she has found her race. Proven to get round the York circuit, could today be her day? PRO FESSIONAL will be given every chance from the draw by the Wizard. Big leggy grey who looks like she’ll stay. TORTINA looked absolutely home last start but was scared off by Plead the Fifth in the shadows. MEGATALK has blinkers on and settles leader’s back or three back the fence. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – COUNTRY FOX EACHWAY Race 6 ARNIE’S BOY has blinkers on first time having been scratched behind the gates last start when well thought of. Should roll straight to the front and looks well above these. Form alongside Habari and Chapasco looks good for this. FLIRTY FRIARS races off the speed and will be winning races. Just runs into a nice one here. HIS ‘N’ HERS ran a belter first-up in a fast speed race. Can give a sight at odds. TRILLIONAIRE can improve on what he showed first-up. Numbers: 6 – 10 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – ARNIE’S BOY WIN Race 7 BLACK SMUGGLER improved sharply last start with the blinkers and drops back in trip. Draws a gate to sit outside the leader and this looks a suitable assignment. SON OF BACCHUS was almost nailed right on the post on Melbourne Cup day when doing lots of things wrong. The rail may help him. KING LOUIE has been promising to win a race for 18 months. Great run in defeat last start. DANISH GEM gets back and runs on at every start. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – BLACK SMUGGLER WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3 2,6,7,8,9 6 2,4 Market Market
