Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 9, 2022March 9, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PADDYS ART has been a little bit of a slow burn after putting the writing on the wall first-up behind Our Norman and Fine Romance. Has since finished second to O’Lara’s Prince and then finished midfield when going round hard in the market. Thought last start’s effort was still strong after tramping wide and is drawn to box seat here. Worth another go. TRUE MOON finished off well last start behind Fear The Wind. Fear The Wind goes to a C3 at Ascot on Wednesday so we’ll get a sighter into the strength of that form. FORLANE should be hard to beat from the draw. Finished second last start to an emerging mare in Penny’s Afield. ALMIGHTY MISS didn’t have much room to move last week. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – PADDY’S ART WIN RACE 2 VITAL GEM is clearly talented and last start was simply enormous in replay. Settled ina different postcode to them and attacked the line hard. Finished behind Twice A Fortnight first-up, finished behind Twice A Fortnight second-up, so needs to turn the tables but from the draw should get every chance here. Victoria Corver has ridden a few winners in the last fortnight and this is another great opportunity. TWICE A FORTNIGHT looks the logical danger on paper. Drawn sticky but Pat Carbery is riding particularly well and the filly looks versatile. SERVICEMAN didn’t fire a shot last start. Was sound fresh. THE BIG ONE is very well named but was a flop on debut. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – VITAL GEM WIN RACE 3 WAR HYMN couldn’t reel in Got Ya first-up who turned the race into a sit and sprint from the front. First 600m 10L slower than average, last 600m 4L faster than average. Got Y was able to control and kick clear and thought War Hymn did a reasonable job to close the margin late. Perfectly drawn here and might be able to work her way to the top. VICTORY VIXEN defied huge odds first-up to run a cracking race. If she reproduces the effort she’s a top 4 hope here. JUSTAMIDDY finished in the money a few times last campaign and his return to racing was sound enough. Think the first few across the line in that maiden go pretty good, so expecting it to be a strong form reference. BLUE SKATES an improver. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – WAR HYMN WIN RACE 4 THINKING GAME is an emerging staying maiden. Hit the line well at a mile at Albany and then relished the additional ground last start with a strong second behind Woodruff. The third horse Arcadia Gem goes to the Natasha Stakes and Thinking Game looks the best suited to another 300m of racing as they all step to the unknown of 2300. Like the way she’s improving with every outing. ALLEGIANCE has run home strongly at the end of a few staying maidens. Troy Turner is in a rich vein of form and he is riding staying races brilliantly at the minute. HARVEY’S ANGEL has shown glimpses this preparation. Barrier should see her tucked away nicely in behind them. ODDONEOUT has been a frustrating one to follow but comes back into a maiden. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – THINKING GAME WIN RACE 5 PRINCE RAGNAR gets one final chance this preparation. First-up run was good enough (in a 3yo 0MWLY) when third behind Cobbanco and Vranyo. Second-up he was a late scratching at Pinjarra after taking charge of his rider in the prelim and then last Wednesday at Ascot he missed the start hopelessly and was out of contention throughout. Drawn the outside fence, if he jumps and leads he should in theory be hard to run down. CITY REGAL will no doubt be trying to adopt the exact same tactics. Has been back to trials since the first-up performance. UNSAID DREAMS pushed Stars Aplenty the entire way last start at any old odds. ATABOY CHARLIE is on debut and drawn the wrong side of the straight but like what he has produced at trials. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – PRINCE RAGNAR WIN RACE 6 SIMPLE LOGIC finds himself racing down the 1000m straight for the first time after being a late scratching at his most recent assignment behind the gates at Ascot. Comes into this fresh 45 days between outings and last time he was seen he finished 4.5L off Spin The Knife, Via Monte and Pixie Chix. That’s great form for a C1. STARS APLENTY has the 1000m straight experience and that is worth gold in these events. Troy Turner/Colin Webster teaming up with an imposing strike rate last 90 days. Big danger. QUEENSHIP won from off the speed down the straight last start, that’s normally an indication of a horse that’s flying. DISCO DONUT comes back into C1 company and is drawn to follow the outside fence. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – SIMPLE LOGIC EACHWAY RACE 7 KERMAN ROCK is a polarising galloper. He’s a long time C1 but he has form in far superior races than what he meets here. This is almost D-Day for him. Placed to Holy Enchantment in a 66+, placed to Treasured Crown and Zaratite in a 72+, placed to Sheza Chamler in a Belmont Guineas, placed to Western Empire and Temptacion in a WATC Derby. Now or never. FLOAT OUR BOAT has been placed to perfection at his last two outings and won by nearly the length of the straight. He loves to free roll out in front and he’ll make it a staying test. CAFÉ NERA had an apprentice rider on last start and never wound up through her gears. Big improver with a senior back on. WOODRUFF looks like he will stay all day. BLACK Numbers: 2 – 10 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – KERMAN ROCK WIN RACE 8 SECRET DEPLOY got us last start and will get us again here. His first-up run behind Cristal Dane was enormous when charging to the line. Second-up he again ran into the in form mare and she simply ran them ragged. Overall time 5L faster than 60+ average so while he was a touch flat to the eye, in review she was simply too brilliant for them. Steps to a mile and should be too powerful late. Still think he’s a Black Type horse in the making. MEGAZONE is knocking on the door for an over due win. CABLE GUY comes into this fresh and went through the grades well last preparation. ZACKARIAH BEAU is going better than numerical form suggest. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – SECRET DEPLOY WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,7 1,2,4,5,7 2,3,7,9 6 Market Market
