Scott Embry’s Thursday Albany Preview Posted on April 13, 2021April 15, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 YOYOS looks the first of the JT Warwick maidens who is every chance of stealing off the locals. Steps up in trip to suit and finished off well into fourth behind Contessa Medici, Wunderkind and First Moment last start. Form should hold up at Wednesday’s Ascot meeting and she is drawn to stalk and out grind them. ROCK OF KAHA is the obvious danger on paper and Jason Whiting rides wet tracks particularly well. ODDONEOUT is a work in progress but clearly has ability. DANTORIO next best. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – YOYOS WIN RACE 2 READ THE RIOT ACT won a 70+ going back only two starts and then was 40 days between runs and up to 1920m. Bizarre choice of race and was beaten out of sight (13.5L). Now comes back to 1500m, teams up with Chris Parnham and is capable of bouncing back. Market probably best guide given awkward preparation. KIA ORA STAR is really well placed and suited in this grade. He can roll forward to sit over the top of the speed and if it turns into a grind, he’ll be right there. AWESOME AS notched up another tried horse victory for Malcolm Byas. Stable going great guns. SENSO is never far from the action. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – READ THE RIOT ACT WIN RACE 3 YODOYOU looks a class above rivals. Comes from a 3yo 0MW when splitting winners Panzdown and Rain God. Now drops into an Albany maiden, has blinkers added to gear and is drawn to get the plumb run. Carries the same weight in a maiden as a 3yo 0MW. No brainer. Pray for black figures #dreamland. MY NAMES STAR continues to find a way to get beat but is honest. TSAHEYLU showed speed on debut and battled on well enough. TAKE ME THERE is kept fresh and drawn to do no work. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – YODOYOU WIN RACE 4 CAPTAIN SHARMANE broke her maiden in style by 2L and then went round short in a C2 when going under to My Blueboy in a race run 3.5L faster than average. No surprise that she was plunged at her next start dropping back into a C1 and got the job done (just). Rises up to 59.5kg but gains the services of C.Parnham and strikes a race completely devoid of speed. Should cross with no worries. MISSALLURE brings intruge at her first start in Wa. Form from the East Coast strong enough to be competitive. KRISTELLA was a massive improver at her first start for Roy Rogers. JACK IN THE BLACK ran a ripper last start at massive odds. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – CAPTAIN SHARMANE WIN RACE 5 CLASSIC ROGUE was the target of big money last start at the staying trip and almost pulled off the plunge. His victory three starts ago was 2.5L faster than C2 average, he then went to town in a race containing Pletto and Wednesday and the most recent run was 3.5L faster overall than C2 average. Expecting him to be hard in the market and hard to hold out late. HUSSTARR and FOXY DREAMER bring alternate form lines with Esperance and Kalgoorlie form to their names. Both can measure up. DALALAH an improver. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC ROGUE WIN RACE 6 STRATHMORE ROSE showed last start she is a Saturday filly. Ran third behind Iseered Iseered and Mercanto, with Spiced Delight, Island Charm, Sassy Trader, Giancana and Hells Belle behind her. Only rises half a kilo coming from a 3yo handicap at Ascot into a 58+ at Albany. If she opens a price, jump on quick because this has the looks of a proper plunge horse. FEARLESS GENERAL is going super and is best kept fresh. DYNAMITE BAY has been going super for months and continues to hold form. SAX ON QUE an improver in the wet. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – STRATHMORE ROSE WIN RACE 7 SCREAM IN BLUE has been going well all season for Paul Hunter. Chipping away with placings and a victory going back 5 or 6 runs. Since then has been more than competitive in 58+, 64+, 70+ and last start was thrown in the deep end into the Albany Cup when running out of his skin into fourth behind Marocchino, Brutus Maximus and So Schmick. Hard to knock his form. WAR CLASS comes up in trip to a relative unknown but looks like he wants ground. CATCHYA CATCHYA won impressively three starts ago under Madi Derrick. WESTERN KING does no work from the draw. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – SCREAM IN BLUE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4 1,3,6,7 6 1,2,3,4,5,6,9 Market Market
