Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on April 13, 2021April 13, 2021 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 JUST A PINCH and SPICED DELIGHT met on debut as 2 year olds and there was only a nose between them. Both resumed last start in polar opposite form lines. JUST A PINCH sat three deep the trip chasing a hot speed and just missed. SPICED DELIGHT led them up running at 1100m and was found wanting late in a strong Saturday race. JUST A PINCH narrowly gets the nod with the senior rider on and the stalking position she’ll land. SPICED DELIGHT may just run them into the ground. High speed jump and run filly. BILLY RAY put bookies kids through private school (and university) when last in work. Hopefully we see the real Billy Ray this preparation. BORN SPICY gets a tow ball run. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – JUST A PINCH WIN RACE 2 SHEZACLASSYCHIX was almost completely luckless on debut when bumped around and almost knocked over. Last start ran fourth behind Kaymay, Queen’s Gift and Story Book in a Saturday 2 year old form reference which should hold up. On a day where the pattern is likely get back and run on Pike is the man for the job. ELECTRIC ROSE went close on debut and the form reads up super with Ain’t No Other Man stiff not to score on Saturday. DADIRRA caught the eye at the trials. GOD’S DREAM not impossible at cricket score odds. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 11 – 7 Suggested Bet – SHEZACLASSYCHIX WIN RACE 3 KASONORI has looked the part at trials in two separate preparations. Ran second on both occasions but never asked for a full effort by Alan Kennedy. Should land a nice spot from the draw and provided he stays out of trouble expect him to be flashing at them late. Sharon Miller’s yard is ticking over nicely and if this gelding has half of his mum’s talent he’ll be hard to beat in a midweek maiden. WAR WARRIOR ran well on debut when chasing home Starlift. She ran well on Sunday at Pinjarra so there’s no issue with the form. ISHINCA VIEW has always shown ability at trials. LASTING IMPACT has an awkward draw. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – KASONORI WIN RACE 4 FOREST WAR is a lightly raced four year old resuming first-up no trial. Last campaign only had two runs, fifth behind Platinum Bullet, Resortman and Diablerie and then third behind Leica Jaguar and Mood Swings. Super form for a C1, the only query is the weight he hasto lump. TIME SCALE trialled like a filly who would be winning first-up. Placid Ark form is brilliant for a C1. MATERIAL WITNESS may have only won an Albany maiden first-up but from an awkward spot in running he savaged the line and clocked all the best sections of the day. EMPIRE REIGN split Em Tee Aye and Panzdown first-up last prep in a 3yo 0MW. Hot form race this. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – FOREST WAR WIN RACE 5 WINSALOT was caught in an awkward position early last start and rolled forward to sit in the breeze. Race turned into a sit and sprint and she was completely unsuited. Gets track conditions to suit those getting back and running home, so from the wide gate she can settle in a much better position (for her style of racing). Form prior was excellent. SUNSET CRUISE drops out of the Natasha Stakes into a 1600m C1. Prior to that ran well behind Eurasia and Reliable Star in a 60+ Graduation. TICK ALONG is knocking on the door and put in a big run last start. BIG SCREEN demolished limited maidens last start but looks progressive. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – WINSALOT WIN RACE 6 COME RIGHT BACK looked a put in, take out job first-up at Bunbury and duly saluted. Rises to 61kg and strikes a marginally deeper field so will need to improve second-up but looks highly progressive. Winner of 5 from 15 and inexperience and greenness saw him undone a few times. Looks in for a break out prep. WATCH ME NEY NEY is the kind of horse who can bob up at odds, especially with rare Ascot run on conditions expected. ROCK’N’RULER has been building into the campaign and if there’s any give in the track, he’ll appreciate it. FRIAR’S FANTASIA ran well last start but grows a leg at Bunbury. Numbers: 1 – 11 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – COME RIGHT BACK WIN RACE 7 THE ESCORT can be forgiven for one below par performance (as can any of these staying types). Placed behind subsequent SW Cup winner Bella’s Idol four starts ago, placed behind Saucy Jack in a 66+ three starts ago, placed to promising staying type Unreliable two starts ago and then sat on top of the speed in a race where the on pace brigade stopped abruptly last start. Forgiving and following up. FINAL CHILL had been going well all preparation and then enters W.Pike. New rider, new horse. He is in career best form and flying. CRYSTAL VALLEY draws a softer gate and gets 1kg on him from last start. RED HOT TIP will need some serious luck or a gun ride from Bennett. Numbers: 12 – 2 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – THE ESCORT WIN RACE 8 STELLAR VISTA looks a classy filly on the rise. Won her maiden well on debut when storming past subsequent maiden winner Starlift and then took the quantum leap into 3 year old company when chasing hard behind Billy Ain’t Silly in a high rating race. By this stage of the day we’ll have certainty in the track conditions but if they are get back and run on down the centre she looks the filly who guns them down. Stable white hot, jockey unstoppable. REXFORD has hit a purple patch of form the last month. YULONG EARTH is impossible to catch but should find a suitable profile of race. DIVINE QUEST looks capable of playing a part. Numbers: 8 – 13 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – STELLAR VISTA WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,4,5,6,7 1,3,11 1,2,3,6,7,11,12,(15) 8 Market Market
