Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on June 22, 2024June 22, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PARORI is two from two since arriving in WA in the care of Gary Bowen and has won by a combined margin of 6.3L. Jump, run and too speedy for her opponents this track/distance last start and considering the margin to Baalbek it’s hard to see how the 2.5kg will be enough to turn the tables. BAALBEK was too sharp for them first-up but couldn’t go with Parori early last start and being drawn outside of her expect she’ll have to settle for second again (in running and finishing). NODUSTONME is going super. CELESTIAL FOX next. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – PARORI WIN RACE 2 BIG PLAYER had his first run for Peter Fernie in a set of bar plates which are removed second-up. That coupled with the fact that he went into his race without a trial should see great improvement first-up to second-up and from the ideal draw he looks hard to hold out. AWEEMAWAY had his first start in WA last weekend when second to Lightning Gold. Jump and run type who should be in front for a long way. BAD BOY BU has the speed to hold him out if they so elect or can take a sit. SOCKEYE is drawn awkwardly. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – BIG PLAYER RACE 3 ARAFISIO has had 17 starts and has only registered a single minor placing, yet in a line-up like this she looks to have a winning chance. Forgiving last start on a Soft7 and going off her previous efforts when beaten a length by Military Action and 2L by Flying The Flag. Either of those runs would actually see her go close in this. LET SPARKS FLY went around a very easy favourite last weekend and never fired a shot after being headed on straightening. Maybe ridden cold with winkers will help? SASSY SKYE started the preparation in great form but the wheels have fallen off. EDWARDS CHOICE is always there abouts. Numbers: 11 – 9 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – ARAFISIO EACHWAY RACE 4 SECRET ATTIRE broke her maiden at her second Kalgoorlie outing and then was really well supported in betting stepping into a C2 when finishing off hard into second behind Debonnaire. That should be the best form in this race and she seemed to appreciate being ridden quietly from a wide gate. Hard to hold out – if they can make ground. LOOPY’S BABY backs up off 7 days and has been solid in betting at almost every run on the Goldfields. Looming into races but not quite finishing off. TWIST OF GOLD is quick but much prefer her at 1100. WITCH STREET comes back in distance. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – SECRET ATTIRE WIN RACE 5 ONEMOREFORLEO has been a revelation this season. Won back to back races over 1400 and 1600 in this grade on the 12th and 19th of May when annihilated in betting. Last start was forced to cover ground in a race won by Captain Rogers but more importantly he was as good (if not better) than subsequent plunge winner Ryewood who came through the same race. Like him here. SYMPHONY IN RED let rip with a big turn of foot last weekend and now drops down to the 54kg minimum. With the right run she’s hard to hold out again no doubt. DANCE OF THUNDER has a senior rider back on. KAKADU never got out in a 70+ and looked to be bolting. Numbers: 2 – 10 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – ONEMOREFORLEO WIN RACE 6 HIGH PRESSURE was $17 into $4 last start in a remarkably confident betting move for a horse who was drawn barrier 10 of 10. The run prior is excellent form: Californication, Abloh, Hidden Ruby, so there was method in the madness but ultimately punters left the money in the bag. Hoping here from a far better barrier they can get some back and we can time our run to join in the action. TOWN HALL was enormous in that same race when parked wide throughout and fighting on bravely. Ready now. COUNTER DRIVE puts the pace on. RED CADILLAC has been freshened and drops a stack of weight. Numbers: 7 – 10 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – HIGH PRESSURE EACHWAY RACE 7 DEBONNAIRE won like a horse who would be making his way through the grades. It was a brilliant ride from Victoria Corver who sticks with him here and provided he can push his way into clear galloping room somewhere in the home straight he looks more than capable of going back to back. Love the way he burst through. MILITARY ACTION has had two starts for Justin Robins and they have both been career best. Respect. BRAZEN EMPRESS maps to get every favour. I AM KING was eye catching in the same event as Debonnaire but will need to back it up. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – DEBONNAIRE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,4,5 2,10 1,3,7,8,10 1,5,7 Market Market
