Scott Embry’s Sunday Albany Preview Posted on April 18, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 NOT AGAIN KEN “gets his last chance”; a phrase I have used many a time throughout his career. But, in a C64+ he does get his last (ever). If he can’t win this then I will divorce him. PURE GEM ran well in the Mt Barker Cup. Interesting to see how the form holds on Saturday. MR PAGO has been racing consistently all preparation. TOP AGENT an improver. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – NOT AGAIN KEN WIN Race 2 HE’S A GUNSLINGER should have gone close first-up this preparation at 1500m when finding a mountain of traffic. He then ran second over a mile and was thrown into the deep end in the JC Roberts. Drops sharply in trip and this is a weak race. OSIPOVA is in a similar boat. She looks like finding the front and is the one to run down. Drops in trip and drops sharply in grade. Fresh, she can run them a merry dance. SORAMIMI is knocking on the door. ROO went well first-up. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – HE’S A GUNSLINGER WIN Race 3 HYPERSPACE was unable to lead last start and then ran a reasonable race from off the speed. The Boond only knows one way and expect her to take him straight to the top. If he leads and dictates he is hard to reel in. DEFIANTLY put the writing on the wall two starts ago and then was super impressive last week. The big danger. ONE POINT LADY was a flat last start. Is better than that, pay to forgive. MORE BXAAR gets under the radar and on her day can flash late. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – HYPERSPACE WIN Race 4 LORD KRONOS has been out of form a bit of recent times. He goes 10L better at Albany than anywhere else and 10L better for Jason Whiting than anyone else. He can give this a shake and may be forgotten by the market. NOTTA MOCHA looks capable of going through the grades and heading to Belmont over winter. He is a nice animal. SENSO is getting close to winning one. SIR SNUGALOT can lead and give cheek. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – LORD KRONOS EACHWAY Race 5 OUR MATE AL is a tough horse to follow, can mix his form but his best is definitely good enough. Think he can wind up three deep with cover in this field and looks well placed. BOXONLUCY drew the perfect gate last start and was given a ride which was just what she needed. She is more than capable on her day but from the draw will need a lot more luck than last start. LADY STINGRAY is racing well but a query at the trip. BOHEMIAN LASS has been consistent for months. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – OUR MATE AL EACHWAY Race 6 DEHEUNE bolted in two starts ago and then was beaten fair and square in a heat of the Sky TV Series. This is another nice race and she can enjoy a soft run from the gate. ATHLONE CASTLE is a handy type. Still does a fair bit wrong and will likely settle a fair way off them but comes with a big run. WILLOW RIVER took a sit last week and broke her maiden in style. Can definitely make it two in a row with some luck. APOLLO at a new home, fresh, drawn the cutaway. Big showing. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – DEHEUNE EACHWAY Race 7 DE ANDES is an 1100m, 1200m specialist and don’t be put off by some of his recent runs. They are in far stronger company and he is another Mark Wright horse who can put in a below par one from time to time. Only three starts ago sat outside Carocapo and finished within a length of Pyms Royale. TWISTED MOUNTAIN comes from a fast run 1000m race behind Copper Fury. Expect support. ITS NOT TRADING always a hope in this grade. MESSIAH is deep into a preparation and racing well. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – DE ANDES WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,4,5 2,7 1,2,5,8 2,4,6,9 Market Market
