Scott Embry’s Sunday Albany Preview Posted on April 26, 2024April 26, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MORGS FREEMAN has been in consistent form throughout the campaign and won a very similar race to this four starts back. That was a 70+ 1240 and he beat Catch These Hands by 1.5L when meeting with plenty of support in betting. Small field suits, speed will be on and he can sit back and look to zap them late. PRINCE RAGNAR has raced down the straight quite a lot recently and he clearly has a liking for that track/distance. 56kg after the Chanel Cooper claim and should be in front for a long way. STAR IN TIME comes back sharply in distance. SIR SNUGALOT improves for the run. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – MORGS FREEMAN WIN RACE 2 SCHNOOTS is coming out of a maiden handicap at Narrogin which has held up really well as a form reference over the last fortnight. On Wednesday at Pinjarra Diego Dynamite won, on Thursday at Ascot Miss Flirtacious won. Looks a great chance for her to break through. MOVING ON is a 30 start maiden however watching the last start replay behind Speedy Nova it was hard to not be impressed with the way he attacked the line. FLICK THE SWITCH ran third in that same race but Moving On was going straight past her in the last few strides. NICE BY NATURE ran a decent race fresh behind Sosipatra. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – SCHNOOTS WIN RACE 3 DEMITO is looking to make it three wins on the bounce and this looks a winnable race by her standards. Was far too strong for them when tracking up a hot tempo at Narrogin last start and prior to that she was too good for Hot Chatter who has been popular with punters over the last month or two at Albany. Looks the right form and a mare in form. ROMERO has raced down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra at his last four outings. Hard to line that form up. BLUE LINE ran well behind stablemate Vonsnip two back. DYNAMITE BAY is going along alright. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – DEMITO WIN RACE 4 SIR BEAR A LOT finished third behind How Pretty (two time winner since), second behind Plays With Magic and then most recently second behind Warralea Lass (who had raced in a WA Oaks). Last start was 1230 to 1600 in one step and should take great benefit from that outing over the distance. Back to 1500, Tash Faithfull sticks – enough to like. DENALI GIRL was actually really good last start in a Westspeed Platinum at Ascot. Keep safe. KAMAKAZI SHOOTER can be forgiven for one below par performance. Prior runs for Paul Hunter were strong. MAYBE DIVINE was an improver last start. Numbers: 5 – 9 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet: SIR BEAR A LOT WIN RACE 5 FLYING SOUTH went to a 3 year old 62+ 1200 last weekend at Ascot and 8L off Twain’s Angel is a decent effort. That filly is 3 from 3 and looks like she could be anything. Back to a C2 in Albany and should naturally be a big improver back into a more suitable race. HEEZA BEAU ran home nicely behind How Pretty last start. JUST FOR MARCUS did it tough last start in a forgive. RIGHTS OF MAN has his first start in WA. His only two career wins were both first-up. Market watch. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – FLYING SOUTH WIN RACE 6 FIOREYES is a son of Melbourne Cup winner Fiorente so in theory there is no reason why he won’t run out a strong 3100m. In the end it’s guess work as to who will and who won’t appreciate the extra 1000m+ that is thrown at every galloper in this field, however, he’s a one paced staying type who has versatility. Broke his maiden from last – won fresh from the breeze. Can be ridden how he jumps and should stay. SLUICE BOX ran through the line in the Esperance, Albany and Geraldton Cups recently and is well suited by the weights scale. TELL NOTHIN’ is on a 4 day back-up from Thursday and has been set for this race. DEADLY AND FAST has a set of shades on and hopefully that will see him go straight! Numbers: 3 – 2 – 11 – 6 Suggested Bet – FIOREYES WIN RACE 7 BEAUTIFUL BAROQUE loomed large last start over 1940m but was left vulnerable late to the finishing burst of Double Thumbs Up. Start prior over a mile she put on a clinic and it’s hard to ignore the way she’s savaging the line. Most of the fancies are drawn awkwardly so it might come down to who get the best run in transit. NEVER SOBER has 61kg and barrier 11 but his race form is outstanding. Beat subsequent winner My Fury two back and then finished third in the Narrogin Cup (72+). This is very winnable for him with even luck early. DIVINE MERCY comes back in trip and can settle on or off speed. YES OF COURSE was scratched from Wednesday at Ascot to save for this. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – BEAUTIFUL BAROQUE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 5,6,9 1,2,3,4,5,7 2,3,4,6,8,11,12 1,6 Market Market
