Scott Embry’s Sunday Albany Preview Posted on November 11, 2022November 11, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 HANG GLIDER should return a winner. Trialled super leading into his return to racing at Belmont in June when folding up late over 1200m behind Paddy’s Lad, Diamond Command and Gold Keeper. Then dropped back to 1000 and finished third to Bustler and Work in Progress. Won a Belmont barrier trial by 4L and should be short and sweet. MAGNABURMA finds a new home with Paul Hunter. His yard is going particularly well and this is a nice acquisition for the Great Southern. PILBARA SONG will pinch a maiden with the jump and run tactics eventually. MOVING ON picks one up this prep. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – HANG GLIDER WIN RACE 2 ST JOHN beat all bar talented filly Ex Sport Girl at her first run in the region for new trainer Sam Faithfull. Interesting to note that daughter Tash jumps off to stick with Penned but we’ll stick with St John and with the shades on should be going close to breaking through. PENNED should improve for the experience and had absolutely no luck on debut when held up at crucial stages turning for home. NO ACTION was only moderate at his return. Capable of improvement. HIDE THE OREOS was massive behind Little Silver on debut. Great start to his career. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – ST JOHN WIN RACE 3 ACEFIRE was a big winner three starts ago at Belmont in a 52+ with 61kg beating home Final Authority by over 3L. Went to York, carried 63.5kg and was held up on multiple occasions on a notorious momentum track. Went to a 66+ and finished only 4L off Swear To God and subsequent winner Written Matter. Drops into a Country 60+ and maps a treat. Pads on the only red flag. MR CAUSEWAY is not an easy horse to ride. Great run into fourth and now gains the services of Chris Parnham. KOHLI was nearly the run of the day at his return. SNEAKY FOX is enigmatic. On his day he’s a talent. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – ACEFIRE WIN RACE 4 LUVACHAT may well have needed the run first-up. He resumed without a trial over 1000m, travelled nicely into the corner and then pulled out deep (on a day where the fence and cutaway were electric). Only grinding late but willing to follow-up given a review of the meeting and thinking the extra 100m and the extra fitness really suits him. Following up. LUCKY LANDING has been a model of consistency. Finding C3 metro too sharp but has to carry weight here. BACK IN BLUE was a sharp win getting up inside Night’s Mystery. NIGHTS MYSTERY is jump and run. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – LUVACHAT WIN RACE 5 HEAR ME SING dropped back to 1240m last start and carried 61kg when only 2.8L off Little Punga, Kohli and Getyourmoneyandrun in a race where the leader broke them open and it was a real sprinting test. Much better suited at 1500m, drawn to kick through and lead or box seat and this looks very winnable for him. Right place, right time. CENSURE is not an easy mare to catch but as she showed last start at Kalgoorlie when saved up for one run at them, she’s got a sustained turn of foot. AYASHA improves off the fresh run. EUROGEM is getting very close. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – HEAR ME SING WIN RACE 6 ELITE FIGHTER resumed without a trial over 1240 behind Henry The Aviator, Fuel The Friar and Final Plan. Drawn the same gate, but importantly steps out to a far more suitable 1500m. Think he can turn the tables on Final Plan and that should nearly be good enough to pinch this. FINAL PLAN trailed particularly well behind Henry The Aviator and ran really well behind him fresh. In for a good preparation. NIIGATA hasn’t had any luck for months. STAR STORM was sound at her Steve Wolfe debut. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – ELITE FIGHTER WIN RACE 7 REBELZONE is well placed by Darren McAuliffe on the minimum and trialled really nicely for her return. Winner of a (second) maiden, C1 and C3 last preparation and then finish second in a 0MWLY at Belmont. Excellent form for a race of this nature. Great placement and should go close to being rewarded. PHONEME raced wide throughout first-up at 1200m when only 2L Swear To God and Written Matter (same race that Acefire comes through) and then went to 1400m second-up and finished only 4L off Ginger Green and Brooklyn Pier. CLASSIC MANGUS ran well first-up when winning a 70+. Highly consistent mare. MORTON’S FORK turned back the clock and ran a ripper at 1000m fresh. Numbers: 11 – 3 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – REBELZONE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,5 1,6 1,5,6 3,8,11 Market Market
