Scott Embry’s Saturday Pinjarra Preview Posted on July 3, 2025July 3, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ABERDEEN FLYER ran fourth on debut behind My Naughty Secret, Perfectly Proper and Mardusa in a form reference that is starting to really hold strong. Second-up finished third to Strideaway and Do I Feel Lucky, again another form line that’s strengthened significantly over the last 6 months. Loved his trial and expect he’ll take beating on return. KING OF LIGHT never saw daylight in the home straight of his recent 1000m barrier trial at Belmont. Travelled well and looked to have plenty to offer. FIERY SPARK won that trial and was ultra impressive on debut at Bunbury. BANNERED seemed to really appreciate the wet track. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ABERDEEN FLYER WIN RACE 2 AMAROO STAR went from strength to strength at the end of last campaign and now returns off a freshen. Back straight trial was sharp and he can allow the speedsters to go and track up in behind them. Always been a horse who would benefit from racing and this looks a nice set up for him first-up. HAIDA GWAII is really quick and never gave anything a look in last start on the Heavy9. Her job is considerably tougher here: up to 59kg and drawn on the ‘wrong’ side. Real acid test for her. REAL DELUXE is drawn to jump and run hard up against the outside fence. MADHI GIRL did finish second to Repossession in a Placid Ark Prelude last campaign. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – AMAROO STAR WIN RACE 3 KIRALUI is an underrated mare who goes super fresh and runs for Shaun O’Donnell. She won a C1 1200 on a Soft7 first-up in July 2024 and then she won a C3 1200m first-up on a Good4 in February 2025. She’s trialled well, she maps well and she’s an eachway quote. ON PATROL has been a hard horse to catch across his entire career, but for a horse who is 0/4 first-up his fresh runs have actually always been really good. His ability level is far better than his career strike rate. MONEY TREES comes back in trip and has a set of winkers re-applied. EL PATRON is always thereabouts. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – KIRALUI EACHWAY RACE 4 FOREVER BOY was beaten in the shadows of the post by highly touted stablemate First Encounter last time out and prior to that he beat home subsequent winner Arcadia Park. He’s in really good form, he’s lightly raced and progressive and this looks a wonderful stepping stone for him to work his way through the lower graded staying ranks. Think he’ll pack too many punches late. FAT ROY SLIM comes through the same race and while he’s trying really hard the handicapper has him in a headlock. 61.5kg is stopping him late. DENNIS CHOUX got a bit bogged down last start on the heavy. LET’SDEAL improves out in trip. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – FOREVER BOY WIN RACE 5 LEETRON is two from two undefeated and while this is a much harder than his maiden and C1 wins he looks pretty raw and untapped. He won on debut with a big turn of foot from a rearward position and then he kept his undefeated tag intact when leading and controlling under a 4kg claiming apprentice. Versatile horse with an in form rider at a double figure quote. BARTIME set the track alight last start. First 8000m run 9L faster than average and he never stopped. FANCY RED has been well placed recently and gets every favour from the draw. IDEALLY has a big turn of foot and Michael Grantham’s yard is on fire. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 8 – 12 Suggested Bet – LEETRON EACHWAY RACE 6 MISS SKYHIGH has returned in excellent order. First-up was no better than three deep the trip without cover and fought on bravely into third and then it was a painfully frustrating case of deja vu for William Pike when again posted three deep outside the leader and left vulnerable late. 59kg is a big ask but if she can lob 1×1 this time around she’ll be hard to beat. FIRST ENCOUNTER is back to near his best and while he’s awkwardly 2000 back to 1600m he’ll still have plenty of admirers. ARCADIA KNIGHT exploded down the middle first-up for an impressive win. CHOLLIMA is on the 7 day spin and racing like she wants a mile. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 13 – 11 Suggested Bet – MISS SKYHIGH WIN RACE 7 PREMIUM CHOICE has always had well document feet troubles but Tony Triscari has become elite at using either bar plates or pads to his advantage. He has made 11 feet-related gear changes across his last 17 outings and is a 3x winner in bars. He’s won first-up over 1000m in his last two campaigns and gets in perfectly on the minimum. Wide open race and think he’s a sniff. REPOSSESSION will go around a short priced favourite and while he’s very exciting it’s worth remembering he was scratched last weekend with a hoof abscess. BABY PARIS didn’t have shades on in her trial. Quality mare on her day. FINAL SIREN has trialled really well. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – PREMIUM CHOICE EACHWAY Same Race Multi – Repossession (Top 2) + Premium Choice (Top 4) The 2025 Beaufine Stakes is extremely open and even and being down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra just adds another element of intrigue/unknown. Repossession is the only straight 1000 winner in the line-up and an exciting 3 year old. Premium Choice adds huge value as a noted fresh horse from a leading strike rate stable. RACE 8 TIMELESS GEM showed excellent sustained speed in his 930m trial win and like the placement from SJ Miller to take on the older horses in a 60+ Graduation. He will probably divide opinion given he’s only the winner of a 2 year old midweeker but his 3 year old Plate form from last preparation around Supernatural and Rock N The Jam is good enough to win this. KRAKEN TIME has all the ability but too many tricks. ALLENTOWN won well last start but likely does it tough again here. CALIFORNICATION is first-up off a year over a distance short of his best but has undeniable ability. Numbers: 11 – 4 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – TIMELESS GEM WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,6,7,8,9,11,12 1,10 2,7,9,10,13 4,8,11 Market Market
