Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on July 13, 2018July 13, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 KELLY’S CALLISTO was extremely brave over the concluding stages to kick back underneath one of Simon Miller’s better 2 year olds in Special Reward. If they adopt similar tactics here and try to hold the front he will be hard to beat. THE VELVET KING worked to find the front early but the race was over at the 800 when Pateman had them all chasing on a soft7 with the rail out. Form is a huge query and whether he can find the front. ANGELIC RULER looks the best of those from behind the leading pair. REGAL COUNSEL next best off a soft run. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – KELLY’S CALLISTO WIN Race 2 I AM INCREDIBLE is so incredibly well placed here. Backing up off 7 days and dropping hugely in grade. Jordan Turner’s 1.5kg claim is a real luxury and even though he looks destined to tramp three deep the trip he is far and away the class runner. ZEINITE should find the fence for the first time this preparation and if they allow her to get into a rhythm without challenge she’ll be hard to run down. THE NINTH HOUR is drawn to box seat just behind the speed and showed ability in his debut win over a nice type. DEEP COVER will go around short care of the Pike factor. Form is only fair. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – I AM INCREDIBLE WIN Race 3 GATTING was going so slow in front last start that he was attacked mid race and then had to pop off the fence. Logically he lands in front again for Pateman and if he is left alone in front they’ll be chasing hard turning for home. AT THE READY posted a huge career best in the Strickland. Likely to get back behind a slow speed again here. FALCON CREST is as honest and consistent as they come. Very well weighted and drawn to perfection. DUDEMANBRO is racing outside the handicap but is consistent. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – GATTING WIN Race 4 REBEL KING has to lump a big weight but has certainly shown in the past that he is more than capable of doing so. Races close to the speed and if he can lob into a spot forwards of midfield with cover he will be right in the mix. Looked the winner of the Bolton but may have peaked on the run late. MAX ALMIGHTY is importantly reunited with senior rider Patrick Carbery. His effort was enormous last start and is sure to have plenty of admirers. PRETENTIOUS CHANT was brilliant in the Beaufine and then found traffic at crucial stages in the Bolton. Much better suited weight wise under these conditions. IT’S IT leads them up for a long way. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – REBEL KING WIN Race 5 DANNY GEORGE went back to near on last (as expected) in his most recent race and was forced very wide into the corner in a race that was ultimately dominated on speed and up the rails. His effort was still very good, pays to forgive. STREET FURY is again drawn awkwardly and may be dictated to go back. Her finishing burst up the fence was excellent first-up. DISRUPTIVE bounces straight on the lead and back in trip with blinkers on, hard to run down. THE NICCONIAN likely sits in the breeze and enjoys a 3kg weight swing on Disruptive from their recent encounter. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – DANNY GEORGE WIN Race 6 ATLANTA BLUE looks to have found his race here. Pike goes on, he is used to lumping big weights and maps to sit in the perfect position one pair off the leaders. Is bursting to win a race and this does look it. LICKETY SPLIT looks likely to be left along out in front and when Paul Harvey controls the speed he is hard to beat. GEIGER GEM was a query at a mile but only went down an eyelash. Sits outside the lead and will be right there. REYKJAVIK finally broke through last start, looked to appreciate being ridden cold. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – ATLANTA BLUE WIN Race 7 PINSSON has been going very well in tougher races than this all preparation. Loomed as the winner last start in a fast run 1300m race. Looks like he will get the run of the race stalking the leader. Ready to run a big one. MINUS LOOKS has not enjoyed any luck his past three or four starts. If O’Donnell can get him in then he’s a big chance. BONNY BE GOOD is beginning to recapture some of her 3 year old form. Up in class but down in weight and Pike goes back on. GOMER WIPPLE was a first-up winner last preparation in what turned out to be strong form. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 9 – 4 Suggested Bet – PINSSON EACHWAY Race 8 TELLEM WE’RE COMIN has simply gone to another level since being freshened up from a Derby preparation. Looks likely to sit off them again, come to the outside and swoop down the centre of the track. GUNNAGO was given a peach of a ride from Patrick Carbery last week. Things get a little tougher drawn 7 rather than 1. MRS BROWNS BOY jumps straight to the top and is in career best form. KENSINGTON ABBEY draws a gate, carries no weight at all and was impressive late last week. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – TELLEM WE’RE COMIN WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3 1,2,6 1,2,4,8,9 5 Market Market
