Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on September 27, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 DUCK DUCK GOOSE finally gets out to a trip which should see her produce her best run yet and break her maiden status. Good effort last weekend when nailed late and should box seat. FRIAR’S MOON looks the logical and probably only danger. Back to back big efforts and should enjoy a soft run from the gate. PRINCE EIGHT slides across and takes up the running and can give cheek. OUQBA TED is limited and will run his usual honest race. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – DUCK DUCK GOOSE WIN Race 2 LORDHELPMERUN is a proven quality performer and his trial showed he is ready to fire fresh. You know going into the race he will settle almost last with 60kg and concede his opposition a head start so betting is risky but he is a nice animal. DANCE MUSIC is undefeated after two cantering efforts where she hasn’t got out of first gear. Interesting to see if she leads or takes a sit. PABLO’S POEM will be right up there and is a nice type who will keep improving with racing. FRIDAY FILLIES was enormous first-up but again goes right back. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – LORDHELPMERUN WIN Race 3 LADY LE JEAN finally falls into a winnable assignment fifth up. Her first two efforts over the short course were excellent and her most recent she ran into some strong opposition. This race is far thinner and she should be within striking distance. REGAL MOON has come back brilliantly, she is not an easy mare to ride and the first 100m will be the key to her chances. PATAPUS is going a shade below her best but this is another race where she lobs outside the lead and has to be in the mix. AKIKO is capable on her day. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – LADY LE JEAN WIN Race 4 HOW TO FLY looks to have found her race. Biggest rivals are drawn awkwardly and she was brilliant last start. Hit the front a bit early and was a sitting duck for a far more experienced rival. If she gets the splits she wins this. DIA DE LA RAZA should find the fence first and that’s a huge plus for him. He was the best of the on-speed brigade last start. LOCKROY goes back and has 62 to lump but he is quality. I AM INCREDIBLE also works into the race deep. Numbers: 7 – 5 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – HOW TO FLY WIN Race 5 BEAUCOUNT was eye catching last week. He mapped to settle last over 1300m and ran a blinder. Backs up 7 days later, steps up to a mile and maps to lead them. Jumps, runs and strings them out. He will be mighty hard to chase down. DARK PROSPECT is drawn poorly and could be spotting the leader a big margin. His last start win showed staying potential. REVEILLE likely settles a fair way back in traffic and will wind up late. SEASIDE SERENADE is in a similar boat and a query at the trip. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – BEAUCOUNT WIN Race 6 COUNT TOMOZ OFF was completely luckless last week. Held up for the entire length of the home straight and never got a crack at them. Carries only 53kg and can either lead or box seat. TURBO POWER comes from the same race and draws far better than he did last week. Effort two starts ago behind Electric Light and Rockon Tommy is excellent form. SETTLERS CREEK may be better suited here ridden cold and given one run at them deep. ELEGANT BLAST was strong first-up after being annihilated in betting. Numbers: 8 – 11 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – COUNT TOMOZ OFF EACHWAY Race 7 PINBALL WIZARD went well first-up behind Mantime, The Nicconian and Lady Le Jean. That form could read very well by this race and he maps to sit right on the tale of obvious leader Time to Trade. Gets the run of the race and first crack at a tiring leader. MULTIVERSE showed versatility last start when leading, interesting to see how far back he ends up here. OUQBA JACK has strong 3 year old form last preparation and trialed well. TIME TO TRADE will jump and run, he only knows one way. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – PINBALL WIZARD WIN Race 8 YOUNG THOR popped out three deep a fair way from home in a strongly run staying race. He loomed as the winner and faded on the run. Should get another economical run from the gate. BERGIO went round at $5.50 last start and ran a great race. Pike jumps ship and punters get a better price for a horse who can definitely win. JUICING CARROTS was the target of strong backing last start and did it tough throughout. ROSE’S SHADOW is a progressive type. Numbers: 15 – 9 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – YOUNG THOR EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,4 3,4,5,6,8,11 1,4,5 2,5,7,9,15 Market Market
