Scott Embry’s Friday Albany Preview Posted on March 31, 2022April 1, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 TIZZLE TOP brings trial form but hails from Lindsey Smith’s yard and for a lot of punters in this unraced = no convictions = attractive. Travelled up nicely in a recent 1450m trial at Lark Hill and didn’t get much room to move until late. KING OF THE JIVE is no star but he’s going well and he’s consistently building towards a maiden win. Drawn a gate where Tash Faithfull can have him right over the top of the tempo and in a race without a natural leader he might even take it up. THEHUNTSMEN is a career long maiden and even got beaten last start in a lowly Class B race at Norseman (Esperance). One of the dangers. EFREET has shown glimpses from time to time. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – TIZZLE TOP WIN RACE 2 WICKED COOL was a super trial when beating handy Great Southern type Oristano and then on debut attacked the line after doing a bit wrong in the run behind Back In Blue and Finest Clobber. If he jumps he could work his way through to lead and we know that these Maschino types grow a leg when they find the front. Like the way he moves and think he has a future. HENRY THE AVIATOR was much better last start in a C2 behind Raging Rock and back into a maiden he should be very hard to beat. Logical danger. PRINCE RAGNAR clearly has ability but he also clearly has a few mental issues. If he puts it all together, he’s probably the one. But quickly running out of chances. COLOUR ME SON gets a soft run and there’s a cutaway on offer. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – WICKED COOL WIN RACE 3 MUSSA won well at her Adam Durrant debut beating subsequent maiden winner My Boy Chris by almost a length. Last start stretched to 1400m and was out classed by Catalpa, Pale Rider and First Missle. Back to 1200m looks a plus and back in grade as well into a country C2. CURRIMUNDI won a 1450m maiden at Albany and then went to a 3yo 0MWLY behind Rokanori and Black Fantasy which looks like super form now with Rokanori winning a JC Roberts Stakes and Black Fantasy catching the eye late in the Melvista. The query is 1600m back to 1230m. LUVACHAT has real X-Factor and raw ability but he has a lot to learn. VRUM is flying and is as consistent as they come. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – MUSSA WIN RACE 4 TREVELLO joins the Great Southern stables of Roy Rogers and has been given 7 weeks between runs. His best is good enough and this race isn’t overly strong. There isn’t much between the top 3 or 4 and if Trevello gets a half decent run he’s in the mix. DYNAMITE BAY seems to go best fresh so the 33 days between runs looks a blessing in disguise. ATHLONE CASTLE has shades taken off but runs for Kristy Bennett and will park behind the speed. CLASSIC MAGNUS rarely runs a bad race and is versatile. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – TREVELLO WIN RACE 5 SNIPPAGEM picks herself in this and takes luck out the equation. She was a C2 winner over 1600m at Albany two starts go beating Ginger Green and then went to a 60+ Graduation at Ascot when striking a race with speed on speed on speed. Winner off 6 days, winner off 4 days and now backing up off 6 days and dropping in grade. Leads and rolls. ART ADMIRER loves races and Ryan Hill horses on the back-up always meet with respect and support in betting. GINGER GREEN is wayward but has a level of ability. BELGRANO BELLE will be finishing off hard late. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – SNIPPAGEM WIN RACE 6 HOOLAHOOPS is flying and will again be very popular in betting in this event. Incredible winner four starts ago, ridden upside down three starts ago, huge two starts ago when three deep the trip throughout and just as good last start when finishing second to Count The Sessions in a 58+ run 5.5L faster than average. Looks another very winnable assignment for her. WAR CLASS wasn’t too bad last start and should get a lovely run from the draw. SHOWADDYWADDY has definitely improved for SJ Wolfe and is capable of sustaining a run. TALENTED ESCAPE can run a race fresh at a mile. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – HOOLAHOOPS WIN RACE 7 SOVIET SPY sneaks in perfectly on the minimum as a 70 rater in a 70+. Went under against a number of these last start as an odds on favourite but he didn’t get much luck and was unable to build crucial momentum at any stage. Lucy Warwick is a gun staying rider and he should bounce back. WILD FUSION was on trial at 1900m but who were we to query Earl O’Loughlin. Went absolutely huge and with a touch more luck early would have won. This is another great chance for him on his way to the Albany Cup. CORPORATE LARRIKIN rolls to the top and makes his own luck. EURASIA should be finishing off hard. Numbers: 12 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – SOVIET SPY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) FIELD 3 9 1,2,3,5,7,8,11,12 Market Market
