Rosehill 12 March – Thoroughbreds Preview Posted on March 11, 2016 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 2 No.2 Mount Panorama Team Hawkes trained youngster who put up a terrific performance here 3 weeks ago behind the smart duo Astern and Defcon (since won the Black Opal in Canberra). He wasn’t the best to begin on that occasion doing a terrific job to wind up just over a length away on the line. Should he bring the right frame of mind tomorrow he looks very hard to beat. RACE 6 No.5 Old North Godolphin galloper who faces his stiffest test to date in tomorrow’s Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes. Yes he only won a Maiden two starts back and a Benchmark 67 last time out however the way he’s finished off on each occasion suggests he’s well up to the class rise tomorrow and will lap up the slightly longer trip. James McDonald will have him parked away cozily until called upon for his big finish late in the race. RACE 8 No.6 Rock Sturdy Joe Pride trained galloper who turned in a very tidy effort first up at Randwick a couple of weeks back in the Liverpool City Cup. He hasn’t won for some time however looks to be very close to an overdue breakthrough and has performed solidly second up in the past. From the good alley tomorrow he should gain a good run in the race and prove very hard to hold out late.
