Chris’ Rosehill Rundown Posted on September 9, 2016September 12, 2016 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 4 No. 2 Quatronic Lightly raced galloper from the Matt Dunn yard who was an impressive first up winner at Doomben recently in midweek grade which made it 3 wins from 5 starts overall. Although up in the weights tomorrow the engagement of Hugh Bowman is a definite plus and from a good alley should be on speed all the way and prove very hard to beat. RACE 6 No. 1 Astern The Group 1 Golden Rose is tomorrow’s feature where they run for a million dollars. No reason the Godolphin colt Astern can’t win again off an impressive first up victory in the lead up ‘Run To The Rose’ a fortnight ago. He was the only horse to break 22 seconds for his last 200m in that race and will no doubt have improvement to come from the run. Gun jockey James McDonald will gain some cover from the wide gate, once in the straight and into the clear look out..!. RACE 7 No. 9 Southern Legend Lightly raced gelding from the Les Bridge yard who really does face his acid test tomorrow. Couldn’t have been more impressive in an easier race at Randwick first up charging home from the back of the field to arrive on the line. Yes, he is rising sharply to 1300m tomorrow against much stronger opposition however he gives every indication the additional trip will suit and if we can get around the $4 mark that looks value.
