Chris’ Doomben Preview Posted on September 9, 2016September 12, 2016 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 4 No. 1 Ringo’s A Rockstar Lightly raced galloper trained by 85yo Norm Stephens out at Deagon. 2 wins and 2 placings from his 4 starts to date with one of those placings being on debut behind Stradbroke placegetter The Virginian. He won convincingly here a fortnight ago parking just off the speed and should gain a similar run tomorrow from the good draw. The rise to 1200m looks suitable and no reason he can’t win again. RACE 6 No. 8 Pienkna Tony Gollan trained mare who is starting to live up to the promise shown earlier in her career. Finished strongly to run down Pepperano here two weeks ago over 1200m suggesting the step up to 1350 tomorrow is ideal. She draws an awkward gate however from this starting point there’s a good long run to the first turn which will give Jim Byrne time to find a spot or some cover. Look out for her to be closing in rapidly close to the line. RACE 7 No. 2 Monsieur Gustave Absolutely flying this time in bolting home by over 9 lengths first up at the Sunshine Coast before again running his rivals ragged here a fortnight back to score by over 3 lengths. He meets a few of those rivals tomorrow who I can’t see turning the tables, drawn near the fence he’ll again jump fast and prove very hard to run down.
