Michael Heaton’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on June 18, 2021June 20, 2021 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 STELLA FAIR resumed in a much stronger maiden at Pinjarra which has proven to be a solid form reference (Short Talk won at Belmont on Wednesday and Ocean Zara ran second at Northam on Thursday). Previous form behind All In Red and What About Moi is far superior to her rivals here and she has the speed to find the top. SIZZLING AFFAIR has placed at four of his five starts this campaign, backs up off seven days and maps sweetly. Certainly knocking on the door. MILITARY BEAT has decent enough form lines and maps to land in the box seat. IMA BLUEBLOOD comes from the same race as Sizzling Affair and meets him 2kg better after the claim. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – STELLA FAIR WIN RACE 2 GARAGE DAYS has been a beaten favourite at his last three starts but was never a winning hope with how slow they went last time out. This is the easiest assignment he’s found and he also gets the addition of blinkers for the first time. BIG BREAK looks a handy addition to Cambana Lodge for the season and it shouldn’t take long for her two break her maiden status. ILZAAM finished off well first-up and the extra 100m looks in her favour. RUSTY SPIRIT might be able to find the front and dictate terms. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – GARAGE DAYS WIN RACE 3 MAGIC WILL REIGN excels at Kalgoorlie (12: 4-5-0) and is going far better than reads on paper. Was one of the runs of the meeting when racing outside the handicap in a metro 72+ first-up, was posted three-wide without cover second-up, got held up third-up and stuck on okay after drawing the river last start. Drops sharply in class from his recent efforts, rises only 0.5kg after the claim of Jett Stanley and has drawn the inside. MISS ZEDEL backs up off seven days after a strong win at this track/distance. Her previous effort showed a rise in class isn’t a concern. HIP WIGGLE gets 1kg on Miss Zedel for only being beaten a head by her last week, gains the services of Chris Parnham and should be able to box seat. DALGARANGA is a query at a mile and maps awkwardly from the draw. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – MAGIC WILL REIGN WIN RACE 4 CHAMPAGNE DIVA brings strong 3YO metropolitan form to an outer-provincial Class Two, has drawn to lead and gets in with a luxurious 57kg after the claim. Two starts ago carried the same weight when third to Graceful Girl (now a Raconteur Stakes winner) and has much stronger form lines wherever you look. JOHNNY ANGEL has drawn wide at his first two starts in WA but still ran well. Maps much more favourably here, gets blinkers added for the first time and Parnham sticks. JAKESTAR couldn’t have been more impressive last start but this is a lot tougher. BRIGHT GLOW profiles nicely and should get a soft run midfield. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – CHAMPAGNE DIVA WIN RACE 5 TAJMALI makes her race return off the back of a nice enough trial and does her best work at Kalgoorlie. Flies fresh, has contested metropolitan races at eight of her last nine starts and should be able to lead or breeze. Hard to beat first-up. NURHACI is going to need luck from the draw but has been flying all campaign and showed versatility when finishing strongly from the second-half of the field two starts ago. WATTO’S FURY is as honest as the day is long and always hard to get past when finding the front. SUPER EX hasn’t been going as well at his last few starts but maps favourably. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – TAJMALI WIN RACE 6 THE BEACH always creates his own luck and should be able to find the front more comfortably here with the majority of the speed drawn out. Was gallant in defeat last start and usually goes around at each-way odds. SOLARIZE was a bit plain when a beaten favourite in the same race but gets weight swings in his favour with Holly Watson jumping aboard and he should be able to land straight on the back of The Beach. CLASSIC MAGNUS has been a costly conveyance for most WA punters across her journey but maps nicely and is usually thereabouts. Should be a nice addition to the local ranks if he stays in the Goldfields. FIERY WATER drops in grade and is brilliantly weighted after claim but will need a lot of luck from the draw. Numbers: 12 – 10 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – THE BEACH EACH-WAY RACE 7 WUNDERKIND is ultra-consistent and gets the services of C Parnham in his first start with a senior rider aboard at Kalgoorlie this season. Ran well in a Class Two last time out, drops back to a Class One and backs up off seven days. REGAL DIVIDEND is another newcomer to Cambana Lodge from the Neville Parnham yard and has contested far stronger races than this of late. Should be able to land on the pace from the favourable draw and be there for a long way. READY TO RIDE is no world beater but maps beautifully and her form prior to the saddle slipping last start isn’t the worst. GALAHS DO ROAR is flying but will probably have to come from dead last. Numbers: 6 – 11 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – WUNDERKIND WIN Quad (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3 1,3,5,8,9,10 1,2,4,7,10,12 3,6,8,11 Market Market
