Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on June 24, 2025June 24, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 CARA DIANA (1) has options from the draw over the short course, she was unlucky last time out and might elect to lead and be given a big chance, should go well. MACH FREEWAY (2) continues to improve but lacks a bit of top end speed, he is close to a victory, but you’d be on 2-minute noodles if you’ve been taking the short odds to him every run this time in, he’ll be close again. MORE THAN HONOURED (5) has got good closing speed and could get a good run and be quite dangerous late, worth a ticket each way if he is a decent price. ZIGGY VERMEER (3) can improve from the improved draw. Tips: 1 2 5 3 Suggested Bet: MORE THAN HONOURED (5) each way. Race 2 Bit of speed in the early stages, JOE WITH THE FLOW (2) should be getting back to peak fitness and could run an improved race, he has good early speed and think he could lead this. IDEALINCIDER (1) was nice in his last effort but rises in grade a touch, looks a place chance again. GALVINSTON JOHN (3) will be humming forward early and becomes a winning chance if he could lead, I don’t think he can cross JOE WITH THE FLOW (2), the front would have to be given to him. JAMIE KIM (5) is a quick beginner and can get into a forward spot and is holding solid enough form for this. DIAMOND WORLD (6) will likely charge out and this grade appears to suit, might be a reins in dust sheet type of steer for Lauren Harper. CRY HAVOC (8) was a bold run on Saturday night and needs a bit of pace on but continues to elevate with every run. GINNIVAN (10) was luckless at Narrogin, can figure into the novelties with THE WHIZZER (11). Tricky race. Tips: 2 6 1 10 Suggested Bet: JOE WITH THE FLOW (2) each way. Race 3 Good competitive race here. SPORTING GRACE (7) won with some authority last time out and should come in full of confidence to be able to be driven in the same manner, should go well. PHILTHEJUG (2) comes in fresh and likely to head forward and try and lead, could run a decent race and be in the money. CARMELA DOMENICA (1) is not at her best and looks a place hope from the draw. IDEAL IVANA (3) will settle close enough and be considered into your novelties. CHERRY ON THE CAKE (8) improved nicely second up and she proved to be versatile, expecting her to get home strongly. LADY VALASCA (9) will be better for the first up effort and has upside. LUCY VICTORIA (10) will be relying on some speed, but she has lifted in recent performances. Tips: 7 2 10 9 Suggested Bet: SPORTING GRACE (7) to win. Race 4 DUNCAN TWENTYTWO (1) was one of my better bets until he and LAZI DAIS (3) met on Saturday night, now I’m on the fence. DUNCAN TWENTYTWO (1) has the improved draw, and I think he will come on nicely from Saturday and looks hard to beat as I think he can lead. LAZI DAIS (3) was ultra impressive as he was caught wide in a quick lead time back to last before circumnavigating the entirety of the field and demoralizing them, he will run a big race in this. BASINGHALL (6) continues to improve and shows decent depth. DOUGS LEGACY (2) had every mortal chance last run, place chance if he can get a good spot on the rail. REPOSSESSION (4) improves but this draw could work out to be awkward. SHECANPLAY (5) has got speed but likewise the draw is awkward. THE BETTOR SIDE (7) is a funny horse, looks to have the ability but he is quite hit and miss at this stage. OFFICIAL ROCK (8) needs luck from the draw along with the stablemate BY ROYAL COMMAND (9) and BOOM IT UP (11) will be running on. Tips: 1 3 6 8 Suggested Bet: DUNCAN TWENTYTWO/LAZI DAIS to Quinella. Race 5 JIMMY ROCKS (6) was held up on Friday night against stronger opposition and prior to that was a solid win on return, he has good early speed and over the short course I can see him charging out and potentially leading, think he will win this race. BEYOND BLING (7) was solid on Sunday as the race wasn’t run to suit, small field plays in his favour and expect him to get home strongly. BONSTAR (1) has drawn well to be handy to them. YOUR GRACE (2) mixing form but can be in the novelties with LUKE ATTACK (3). CLASSIC CHOICE (8) creates interest as he drops a fair way in grade but has been out of the money for a while. Tips: 6 7 1 8 Suggested Bet: JIMMY ROCKS (6) to win. Race 6 Good race here. KINKY (5) proved me wrong last week with some good early speed and looks to have come back well, will be interesting to see how she goes in this race rising in grade. WHEN IN VEGAS (6) was bold in defeat against nice types at Pinjarra in quick time, looks set to be in the first few and go close. YAWOMA (7) was superb in the return run and must overcome the draw disadvantage but looks to have come back sharply. CIGANDA (2) has the speed to lead early and do what she did last run, good follower of speed. ART IDEAL (8) could improve but happy to watch as the first up run was inconclusive. CHEKKER (3) can be considered for novelties. Tips: 5 7 2 6 Suggested Bet: CIGANDA (2) to place. Race 7 CRUNCHNSIP (5) looks a nice type off the back of a solid trial at Pinjarra and comes here with strong claims, Deni Roberts taking the drive gives this analyst a bit more confidence as the stablemate SLAY QUEEN (2) was solid in a recent trial too and has the better draw, should be respected. LADY MERMAID (1) was luckless on debut and then sound in start number two, keep safe from the good draw. NOD FROM ABOVE (3) raced some of the better horses on debut, just didn’t like how she finished it off, don’t think she will be too far away here and looks to have ability. TSUNAMI WAVE (4) was solid in a recent trial and must be considered for the novelties. Tips: 5 2 1 3 Suggested Bet: CRUNCHNSIP (5) to win. Market Market
