Race 1

ELISH STAR (4) has good early speed and was a brave effort in defeat last time out, drops back to the mile and looks a strong chance in this to go all the way. DREAMBIGAIMHIGH (5) is the big danger as he is holding good consistency and has a lot of high speed. SELLUNE (6) rarely runs a bad race and will be closing off well. YOUR KIDDING (9) is a horse I prefer in stands but the short course mobile could see him pick a few off and run into the top 4, LAVRADORE (3) and GRAND MAJESTIC BELLS (7) capable of a top 4 finish.

Suggested Bet: ELISH STAR (4) each way.

Race 2

ALDEBARAN BOYD (4) has the handicap advantage over his main rivals and normally steps soundly, looks very hard to beat in this. LUVAFLAIR (8) must overcome the back mark but over the longer trip she should make up the ground and be running on strongly and she has race fitness under her belt which is advantageous over LINE THE STARZZZ (5) and CHUMANI (6) who are both returning off a break, highly talented trotters but may need a look at these. NICKYS SON (7) capable of better, novelty chance with ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN (2).

Suggested Bet: ALDEBARAN BOYD (4) to win.

Race 3

YAWOMA (5) returns and has good early speed, think he looks the likely leader and if he is forward enough, I think he will be very hard to get over, his form last preparation time wise was first class and think he can serve it right up to the favourite here. RUMBLE STRIP (6) was a beaten short priced favourite last time out and looks to do the work again, he will be right there in the finish. DUNKALLEDY (8) has a lot of high speed, think he will be closing off strongly on the big Pinjarra circuit, think that’ll suit him being a former kiwi. ELVIRA JANE (1), SHECANPLAY (2) are both novelty chances for your backend first 4’s.

Suggested Bet: YAWOMA, RUMBLE STRIP, DUNKALLEDY box trifecta.

Race 4

BOBBY WATERHOUSE (2) had excuses last time out and looks perfectly placed here, should lead and win but won’t be an appetising price. GALVINSTON JOHN (3) has a nice draw to duck in behind and can race well at the short course. JAMIE KIM (9) has good early speed but there is plenty of speed underneath him which makes it harder today. ERA (4) loves this trip and is a place hope with BEALAWYER (5), KARAOKE STAR (7), PHILTHEJUG (8) and HEAVENLY BLISS (10) who have all proven themselves at the short course.

Suggested Bet: GALVINSTON JOHN (3) to place.

Race 5

Intriguing race here. SWEET LUCIFER (7) returns, and his form was first class last time in, he might need the run but also wouldn’t be surprised to see his ability carry him to victory. ALWAYSBFRANK (1) has a lovely draw and continues to improve every time he steps out there, has early speed and with the race fitness, he’s the one I’d be happy to play as a punting perspective. RELATIVELY ARMA (6) returns and was racing well last time in, draw is a query and obviously fitness too but should run well along with stable mate ARMA BELIEVER (9) who is second up after a long time away, capable of improvement in this. COVERNOTE (2) is a horse that has yet to leave a lasting mark on me, still figuring him out. SOHO VESPER LIND (4) and JIMMY ROCKS (5) don’t have much separating these two, both capable with the right run.

Suggested Bet: ALWAYSBFRANK (1) each way.

Race 6

HILLVIEW BONDI (6) has come back in tremendous order and was devasting in his last win, he is now third up in the preparation and looks hard to beat again, either leading or breezing he will keep the race honest. FASTER THAN DAD (9) will appreciate a genuine tempo and has brilliant closing speed, this is a solid contest but represents a drop in grade on his latest form, forget he went around last time out, he got knocked over 4 times in the run and expect a sharp improvement today. NORTHVIEW DANCE (2) has the speed to lead and has come back well, has options and is a horse who can absorb pressure. SWEET VIVIENNE (4) a bit like FASTER THAN DAD (9) was KO’d last start and forget she went around; prior form had been solid but looks more a novelty chance in this. CALLMEWHATUWANT (5) will be running on, he can sit on speed well. ROCK ME OVER (3) has a tricky draw, novelty hope. A bit of a watch around on the returning INFINITE SIGN (8) and BEYOND THE SEA (10) both may need the run.

Tips: 6 9 2 5

Suggested Bet: FASTER THAN DAD (9) each way.

Race 7

BETTERTHAN SECRET (1) drops in grade and gets the perfect draw, looks the early leader and likely to take a trail and go whoosh up the sprint lane late, very confident she is the one to beat in this. SPORTING GRACE (3) looks the likely leader and can roll along, last few have been good but her last 200m is normally when she is feeling the pinch. ISLAND TEE REX (8) is an improving type, second up and drawn to get a soft run, solid place claims at value. MANEA (2), LADY VIOLETTA (4), MYDADTHETERROR (9), CALL TO ARMS (10) and BALINGUP BOY (11) are all capable of running into the novelties in an open race.

Suggested Bet: BETTERTHAN SECRET (1) each way.

Race 8

MAJOR FREEWAY (12) can watch things unfold early in this and be put into it at any stage, looks a major player in this as he has been racing stronger fields and is versatile. TRIROYALE BRIGADE (5) is ready to run a big race, he’s had the necessary runs and you’re seeing improvement every time he steps out there. LIGHTFOOT LEIGH (4) looks the likely leader and ran well last start in his returning run, should be better for that. FRANCO MECCA (10) and ALTA FREEWAY (11) will both be getting home well from the back of the field.

Tips: 12 5 4 10

Suggested Bet: MAJOR FREEWAY (12) to win.
