Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 25, 2025August 25, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 ALDEBARAN BOYD (5) comes in fresh but has good early speed and strikes a suitable race, looks the likely leader and has class, hard to beat. CASHOUT (8) was a nice debut in the west but has what could be seen as a tricky draw to work with, looks the main danger. LAVRADORE (2) won well in the stand last time out but was disappointing in the mobile two starts ago, the big chestnut is mixing his form but looks a novelty chance with TILTHESUNSETS (1) by virtue of the draw. SELLUNE (9) will be running on well, always a chance and ELISH STAR (4) is another who is mixing his form. Tips: 5 8 9 2 Suggested Bet: CASHOUT (8) to place. Race 2 RUBY LOVERA (5) comes in second up today and has the draw advantage over most of her main rivals, she should be further improved and is a talented type, should go close. BULL SHARK BETTY (6) is little miss consistency and can get into the money even from the awkward draw. DELULU (7) comes in fresh and might have to do the work, potentially to the breeze in this race. MANHATTAN RUBY (11) was solid in her return run and looks a solid chance to further improve, she comes is as the smoky and must be respected. Novelty chances to WICKED LOVER (4), SPIRITED WHITBY (9) and STELLA DELIZIOSA (10). Tips: 5 11 6 7 Suggested Bet: RUBY LOVERA (5) to win. Race 3 MAJOR MIKI WHITBY (2) is a horse I have a lot of time for, he returned against a superb lineup and performed well, looks potentially like leading this and will run a big race, even if he wasn’t able to lead, I think he will be close enough. LAST HARD COPY (11) has an awkward draw to overcome but looks a major player and will be better for his freshen up run when fourth to the talented Bettor Fortune. WHEN IN VEGAS (1) has options off the inside, he has been quite unlucky throughout this preparation and performing well but interesting to see where he will settle, don’t think he can absorb the pressure and win if he was to lead. BEATITLIKEBECA (7) is going well but the draw hurts. MAJESTIC REALE (9) has been a big improver this time in and won well in much weaker last run, novelty chance with CONTROL THE ROOM (12) who has caught the eye and will be running on. Tips: 2 11 1 12 Suggested Bet: MAJOR MIKI WHITBY (2) to win. Race 4 FAKENIT (9) is a very smart horse who is returning, she has a nice trailing draw and from what she showed last time in, you’d imagine she will be further improved with another preparation under her belt, and this looks winnable on return. REINETTE (11) will be improved off the first up run and looks to be getting home strongly, should be peaking at the right time. ISEEUBABY (3) is an enigmatic filly, has the ability but she can be hard to trust, has the draw advantage and can run well. HIGHVIEW HEIDI (4) is racing well, looks a novelty chance. RUBY LOU (7) must overcome the tough draw, and the lead mightn’t be available if they go forward. THE FIRST CUT (1) and MISS VINCENZA (2) have good draws but rise in grade noticeably. Tips: 9 11 3 4 Suggested Bet: FAKENIT (9) to win. Race 5 Interesting battle early, PINNY NOIR (1) has good gate speed but comes in first up against a solid field so tactically Hall Jnr has options with this smart type who is first up. LAZI DAIS (4) comes in fresh and has an abundance of gate speed, will run a big race. CAPTAIN STIRLING (8) was solid on return, he has a nice trailing draw but do prefer him to be out and rolling, will be no further back than three back the pegs and will be dangerous late. MAJOR DISCO (7) doesn’t know how to run a bad race, novelty chance again. Looks to be a bit of a drop off depth wise after that with plenty of others you could include into your first 4 at value but they might be found out with the tempo of the race. Tips: 8 4 1 7 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN STIRLING (8) each way. Race 6 ITS MAA TIME (2) controlled and won the Country Oaks at Bunbury in moderate time, has some early speed but will have to run quicker times overall you’d imagine winning this, which she is capable of. COPPER HEAD LADY (5) is a very talented filly, she won impressively last time out and showed tremendous early speed, was nearly a year between runs and will improve off that effort, looks incredibly hard to hold out. AKOYA PEARL (1) rises in grade and gate speed is a query from the pole, but she seems to be more mature and pacing well, won’t be far away in terms of novelty contention. OUR RICH CARGO (3) was very impressive on return and will be close enough to run into the top 4. Looks a distinct drop off after that depth wise with OFFICIAL ROCK (11) the best of the rest for mine. Tips: 5 2 3 1 Suggested Bet: COPPER HEAD LADY (5) to win. Race 7 BELLY UP (1) returns and has the perfect draw, he was a big improver overall last time in and has always shown above average ability, expecting him to be very hard to get by in this. DAMAGE DONE (8) has a lovely draw and looks likely to run into the money here. ELITE FLEET (10) returns and has good ability, can do work in his races and will be put into it at some stage, expect him to stick on well. ICE COLD SAPPORO (11) is mixing his form, capable of overcoming the draw and moving into the money but this is a difficult task. LOU LAMOUR (9) returns and will get a lovely soft run on the pegs. LAZARUS STAR (2) going well, novelty chance from the draw, hopefully he doesn’t get shuffled back too far. Tips: 1 10 8 9 Suggested Bet: DAMAGE DONE (8) to place. Race 8 MADDY LOU (2) looks ideally placed, she has come back well and looks the likely leader here, hard to run down. I LIKE WHAT I SEE (3) has come to WA and performed well, can do work in her races and will be close enough, the main danger. MISS STEFANI (7) has been mixing her form but can overcome the draw and getting into the money. THE SWINDLER (6) is a novelty chance but its an awkward draw for her. SHES A MARE (12) will be getting home strongly in the concluding stages. SPIRITOFANANGEL (9) novelty hope with SHEZA BROMAC (5) and SUNDANCER RAINBOW (11) but all three faces tricky maps for their chances. Tips: 2 3 7 12 Suggested Bet: MADDY LOU (2) to win. Race 9 Open race here. MAJOR CLASS (11) is racing in good consistent form; he can do the work and can win again but the mile with a full field presents more challenges. BETTOR HAVE FAITH (12) has good closing speed and will come into play, think she is a cog under her best form right now but can still win this. LUHRSY (10) is wonderfully consistent, should perform well again and likely be dangerous late. ASHIMA (1) has the nice draw but comes in fresh and might need the run. SHES A LUCKY PENNY (2) creates interest for Joseph Suvaljko’s first runner as a trainer, keep safe as she is a good performer at the shorter trips. BEALAWYER (4) is a novelty chance but issues for he, IM DRINKINDOUBLES (5) and IM EUGENE (6) who have been racing predominately over the lightning laps. DREAM CONTROL (8) falls into that category too but she will be getting a much softer run and possesses good closing speed. Tips: 11 12 10 2 Suggested Bet: LUHRSY (10) to place. Race 10 JIMMY ROCKS (2) has the draw, has the speed and class and looks to have found a perfect race, very hard to hold out in this. SOHO VESPER LIND (1) has the draw to lead early and take cover, will get the last crack at them but she has had a few opportunities. GETN WIGGY WITHIT (8) not at his best but drawn to get a soft run and be a place chance with winning capabilities. CORDERO (3) raced well on Friday night and was a sign of him getting back to his better form, this class suits and won’t be too far away. BETTOR MOVE ALONG (4) was superb in his comeback run, looks like he’s in for a nice preparation. ARIONROCK (11) racing well but the draw hurts. NORTHVIEW DANCE (12) was fantastic in his return; the draw is a big challenge but can run into the novelties. ALFA PRINCE (5), MIKIPELO (6) and STRAUNY (10) capable but maps look awkward for all of them. Tips: 2 1 8 3 Suggested Bet: JIMMY ROCKS (2) to win. Market Market
