Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on August 4, 2025August 4, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 ELISH STAR (1) moves back to the stand start and to the short course and looks better suited here, some of his performances have been solid as of late and must be respected as a major player in this. BETTY BOOTZ OFF (7) looked to have something to offer when breaking on the final turn last time out, she will appreciate the smaller field and has the class. SELLUNE (8) is consistent, handicap is tricky to overcome as he can be fractious at the start. YOUR KIDDING (5) better suited to the short course stand and can return to the money. LAVRADORE (4) a novelty contender. Tips: 1 7 8 5 Suggested Bet: ELISH STAR (1) each way. Race 2 Good race here. BETTOR FORTUNE (5) was impressive in his most recent victory and comes in with the draw advantage over the main fancy, looks like he could hold the advantage and will be a good test but on what I saw last time out, well and truly capable of getting the job done. LAST HARD COPY (7) has been in sparkling form, tough draw but he is a tough horse, and young Ajay Markham gets the call up to guide the talented 3yo, he is the testing material. MAD MONDAY (3) returns and was a winner last time in, keep safe. ART IDEAL (4) has been consistent and can figure into the money again here but once again bumps into some nice types. SOHO MARGARITA (1) gets her best draw and can improve in terms of novelty placement. Tips: 5 7 3 1 Suggested Bet: BETTOR FORTUNE (5) to win. Race 3 BEALAWYER (8) was driven like the best horse last time out and he finally broke through, expect Jnr to drive him in a similar manner as it had been a long time between drinks for Bealawyer fans. HEAVENLY BLISS (9) has that brilliant gate speed in her repertoire and if she could cross, she would run well at this shorter trip, form has been consistent. COHLIN (3) has the speed to lead but hasn’t been at his best, place chance on current form. PHILTHEJUG (5) can improve in this and IDEALINCIDER (6) will be running on well, both the Costello runners have drawn to be close enough to them. SPINNER OF YARNS (7) and DEE JAYS BIG BOY (10) are novelty chances at their best. Tips: 8 9 6 5 Suggested Bet: BEALAWYER (8) to win. Race 4 SOHO VESPER LIND (1) is becoming a hard horse to follow, the stable have mentioned in a few interviews on RacingWA that at the bigger tracks with a sprint lane they may elect to take the cover and that’s how I’m reading this race, still she will get a good run and could be better with a sit, nearly sucking me in again. SHES A TINY DANCER (2) logically looks the first one there and probably take some catching, she has been very consistent. GETN WIGGY WITHIT (3) is ready to run a bold race, small field suggests he won’t settle too far from them. GREVIS (5) returns but isn’t a horse who can do much of the heavy lifting and couple that up with him being first up, the task looks challenging. HEAVENLY WAGE (6) racing well but he’s a genuine sprint type but is racing with renewed zest. HAVEYOMETTED (4) never far away. Tips: 2 1 3 6 Suggested Bet: SOHO VESPER LIND (1) each way. Race 5 ROSE OF CLARE (8) looks a reasonable type off the back of the trial and first win, the draw could work out tricky but felt like she won with something in reserve last start, go close again. JUST A PONY (2) was solid in trials and the debut run, looks to be improving and could bounce on the bunny early. CARA DIANA (6) is consistent and goes up in grade but shouldn’t be too far away. ELIZABETH AITH (7) has a great deal of ability but also has some quirks, bigger track looks to suit her to run a better race. WELLOILED (3) and CINDYS SECRET (4) novelty players and ELLEOFAREACTOR (5) likely to need the run based off the trial run. Tips: 8 2 7 6 Suggested Bet: ROSE OF CLARE (8) to win. Race 6 GOODTIME LOUIS (7) likely charges forward at the start and he won with a leg in the air in good time last time out, looks well placed again and will be well found in the market, there is plenty of speed underneath him early with FIREPLAY (4) and BLOCKJORG (5) firstly being the quickest beginners but also speed off the frontline with HOTFOOT IT (3) and JILLIBY MOJITO (6). JIMMY ROCKS (11) will be hoping for a quick first quarter to bring him into it, collectively it’s not as deep as he has been racing. FIREPLAY (4) is a place hope if he can cross and take cover. BLOCKJORG (5) getting up in grade but races well at the mile. AMERICAN CRUISE (10), BELLA RAGAZZA (9) and BEAT THE BANK (12) all run on types. Tips: 7 11 5 9 Suggested Bet: GOODTIME LOUIS (7) to win. Race 7 Very open race here. CORK CAN RUN (11) comes in fresh but his times are well and truly up to a field of this nature, he is a former nice type of horse, and I think we could see him turn the clock back and run a good race here. SPIRITOFANANGEL (6) is a consistent performer and can push forward at some stage and stick on well. LUHRSY (10) has been racing consistently and looks a strong improve in this grade, will be there at the business end. TRITTRITTBANGBANG (1) has the nice draw and looks the early leader and has options. SWITCH BLADE (4), RIPPER VIEW (5) and ROCKNROLL NUGGET (12) capable of running into the money but all need luck from their respective draws. Tips: 11 10 6 1 Suggested Bet: LUHRSY (10) each way. Race 8 DOUSEEME (2) was a nice effort last time out and has the good draw today, expecting a strong performance from her in this race. BETTOR ARCADE (11) returns from an awkward draw but has the talent to overcome, the race has many chances so will need Aiden to be on the ball. WORLD SECRET (1) is a novelty chance; she hasn’t been at her absolute best for a while. MASTER LEIGHTON (3) has been luckless and think he’s ready to bob up at odds, keep safe. TROUBLE SUPREME (6) hasn’t had much luck recently but may run into that issue again from the draw. TRIROYALE BRIGADE (7) has the superior form but the draw on return hurts him. TASHS SPARTAN (8) will be hitting the line strongly, just needs a genuine tempo. RONALD SCOTT (9) is fitter and capable and FLYIN DISCO (10) is better suited to this distance with his racing style. ARIONROCK (12) has winning claims with the right run. It is incredibly tricky to work out, I’ll be playing wider in the quaddie. Tips: 2 11 8 9 Suggested Bet: DOUSEEME (2) to win. Race 9 LITTLE MISS MOLLY (6) comes in first up for Aiden De Campo and looks to be well placed, she was racing well previously in this grade and comes in with strong claims today. AMERICAN TYPHOON (9) drops in grade on her last run where she dropped right out and think she can bounce back, wouldn’t want to be diving in too short but can win this. NOT FOR NOW (2) debuted with a nice effort off the back of a modest trial, can continue the improvement and be dangerous. ICANPLAY (3) is improving, give her novelty claims in this. NO MESSING ABOUT (8) will run a better race running the rail. ELVIRA JANE (10) will be running on well. Tips: 6 9 2 8 Suggested Bet: LITTLE MISS MOLLY (6) to win. Market Market
