Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on June 30, 2025June 30, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 SOVEREIGN JEWEL (4) was ultra impressive in a recent trial and is bred in the purple to be a nice type, looks very hard to beat on debut here. THE SEA SIREN (5) has shown good promise and trials have been solid, looks one of the big dangers along with her stablemate IM CATEGORY FIVE (6) who has been undefeated in two career runs and has an abundance of high speed, must be respected. MISS LEOPATRA (1) drawn well again for the novelties and SLAY QUEEN (2) hit the line well on debut and her stablemate COCOBOLO (3) is having her debut run but has shown promise at recent trials. Tips: 4 5 6 2 Suggested Bet: SOVEREIGN JEWEL (4) to win. Race 2 ALDEBARAN BOYD (5) reads up well for this on WA debut, has good early speed and the times have been solid against comparatively harder fields potentially in the eastern states, looks hard to beat. THAT’S NOT MY GAIT (7) drops in grade and will appreciate no Patched or Majestic Ga Ga in her race today, she can do work and is a good staying type. DREAMBIGAIMHIGH (9) didn’t have the rub of the green last start and am happy to overlook that and include into the novelties here. LAVRADORE (1) performed well in a mobile two starts ago and can be included in your novelties with ONESTEP AHEAD (4) and POSSEIDON (6). Tips: 5 7 9 6 Suggested Bet: ALDERBARAN BOYD (5) to win. Race 3 TELLMETOATTACK (5) will be better for the first up run and wasn’t beaten far in his return run, he is very much a handlebars down type horse in this race and appears very hard to beat. PERFECT MOVE (2) was bold in his last run and the lightning lap could suit him; he has options from the draw. STAPLETON (8) and GOTA GOOD WARHOL (9) are consistent, especially at this start type, just tricky draws to work with. DEE JAYS BIG BOY (6) appeared to go too quick for himself last time out and broke, can be a novelty player at odds here. Tips: 5 2 8 9 Suggested Bet: TELLMETOATTACK (5) to win. Race 4 Open sort of race here. SYNCHRONIZER (9) has come back well but must overcome a back row draw, she appears versatile and should run well and can watch things unfold. SPIRITOFANANGEL (7) doesn’t run many poor races, lacks that top end speed and doesn’t win out of turn but she looks to be close in running. LADY VALASCA (2) has come back well and is a big chance to be handy to them and is knocking on the door. SUNSHINE SWIFT (5) drops in grade and is fitter for the first up effort, won’t be far away. SUNDANCER RAINBOW (6) is a one trick pony but will be getting home solidly and LUCY VICTORIA (3) continues to improve, include in the novelties. Tips: 9 7 2 5 Suggested Bet: SPIRITOFANANGEL (7) each way. Race 5 ERA (3) gets another opportunity and is better suited to the lightning lap, looks likely to lead and run a decent race here, wouldn’t want to be diving in too short. MEGA MACH (6) has lifted in recent runs and could get into a good spot and be dangerous, ready to win. TEMPT THE STARS (1) not blistering early but could be close enough and at his best play a role in the finish. DREAM CONTROL (7) was good last time out, burned the candle at both ends and has good early speed. CRY HAVOC (8) is racing well but the draw hurts his chances, needs a few things to go his way. Tips: 6 3 1 7 Suggested Bet: MEGA MACH (6) each way. Race 6 ALTA KING (11) can watch things unfold here and is a horse that can be put into the event, last few runs have been solid and is ready to win, a lot of conjecture over who will lead this, therefore some early speed, and it’ll bring him right into the race. THE SWINDLER (2) isn’t the quickest beginner but it’s not a superior front line, if she could work to the pegs, she’d give them something to catch. MAJOR BLUE EYES (9) had his chance last time out and lacks top end speed but won’t be far away along with the stablemate WORLD OF ROCK (8). GOGGINS (10) and ALTAR (12) both capable types and will be running on. Tips: 11 2 10 9 Suggested Bet: ALTA KING (11) to win. Race 7 BOY BLUE (6) has the draw advantage and looks hard to beat here, should press forward and can run some good sections, appears hardest to beat with a healthy respect to the returning BULL SHARK BETTY (7) who is a versatile type with plenty of high speed, keep safe. MAJOR DISCO (11) is consistent but is finding it hard to break through, will look threatening again at some stage. FLOAT MY BOAT (2) was solid last time out and can figure into the novelties with WRIGHT RITE RIGHT (3) and it looks tricky for PINJARRA ROCKS (12) from the draw, the ability is there but manners let him down a touch. Tips: 6 7 2 11 Suggested Bet: FLOAT MY BOAT (2) to place. Race 8 Open race. BLOCKJORG (10) looks a major player, but her better form has been on speed and looks set to do some work in this. DAT LOVELY (4) has come to racing in decent form and just needs to find a position to be prominent. BARBADOS (11) is consistent but the draw over a mile increases difficulty. JILLIBY MOJITO (12) is in the same boat. BONSTAR (1) and TRITTRITTBANGBANG (3) can both be considered place chances as they can settle handy to them. Tricky little race. Tips: 10 4 11 12 Suggested Bet: BLOCKJORG (10) to win. Race 9 MAXIMUM ROCK (5) returns and has plenty of ability, comes in with the draw advantage and should run a big race here, has got good depth. DAME VALOUR (6) is a talented mare who can do work, she has returned well but the disadvantage in draws makes it harder for her. RELLIM (2) is entering dangerous areas of being one of the unluckiest pacers in WA, he will run a big race with even luck. WORLD SECRET (1) is a novelty chance from the draw with the speedy VELOCIPEDE (3) who may have a little look early, he can mix his form but is very much up to the task on his day. CASTELLA DELLACQUA (8) not racing anywhere near her best at this stage. Tips: 5 6 2 3 Suggested Bet: RELLIM (2) to place. Race 10 COHLIN (3) looks a big chance to lead and back to the lightning lap and on the rails is where he shows his best, he should go close in this. HEAVENLY BLISS (6) is versatile in these races and can get into a decent position and last few runs have been much better, should run well. SUN AND SAND (5) likes the lightning lap races and won’t be too far away. HES THUNDER (2) lacks that top end speed but can be in the novelties with a safe enough beginning. KARAOKE STAR (8) suited this grade, but draw is tricky. ELEPHANT ROCK (4) and ASHIMA (7) chances but need a few things to go their way. Tips: 3 6 5 8 Suggested Bet: HEAVENLY BLISS (6) each way.
