Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 28, 2025April 28, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 PRINCE OF PINJARRA (8) trialled up well and fired through his last section nicely, has a good draw to get a soft run and looks ready to win on debut, go close. STAR ARISTOCRAT (6) is improving nicely but has drawn poorly, has plenty of early speed so they may try and get him forward and he can overcome the draw in that scenario. SHOOBETCHA (1) had his chance last time out but will run a strong race from a much better draw, likely to lead early and has options. ALTAS LAST (9) hit the line well in that same race, race into bother at the 400m but closed off nicely, respect her here. Tips: 8 6 1 9 Suggested Bet: PRINCE OF PINJARRA (8) to win. Race 2 ICE COLD SAPPORO (10) will be better for the first up run, and he gave all the indications of a horse who will be winning a race real soon, the times were there, and he showed good heart with a tough run, expecting him to go close. POPPYONTHEBEACH (6) can use her early speed to work to the top, just depends how much she will have to do but can run solidly again. RUBY LOVERA (7) has come up short, she has talent, but this race is deeper than first up. MAJOR DISCO (11) is a strong novelty chance as he fails to run a bad race. PRINCE OF TRIBECA (5) can improve second up but was a touch disappointing on return. Tips: 10 6 7 11 Suggested Bet: ICE COLD SAPPORO (10) to win. Race 3 RECOVER LOVER (2) has got options, she gets into this race well and has plenty of early speed, can bounce on the bunny and back to the lightning lap, expecting her to go close. GOTA GOOD WARHOL (8) will be getting home strongly, his run on Saturday was good and the backup shouldn’t hurt him being over the shorter trip. BLOCKJORG (4) is mixing her form but does perform well at the shorter trip, could improve. IM EUGENE (5) has yet to really show his best and has come up short enough, can win but there is speed to his inside. DEE JAYS BIG BOY (6) racing well but more of a novelty chance in this lightning lap. Tips: 2 8 4 5 Suggested Bet: RECOVER LOVER (2) each way. Race 4 AMBITSIYA (9) trialled up soundly for her return, she is a very talented now mare and can watch things unfold in the early stages, looks hard to beat with her depth and versatility added to the fact that Gary Hall Snr is very good at producing horses first up. BRONZED (3) has good early speed and with a run under his belt, could charge across and lead and has options from there. RELATIVELY ARMA (5) can give them something to chase if she can find her way to the top, her form has been decent since returning and this collectively represents a drop in grade on last run. TIGER LOU (1) will improve with the improved draw. ALWAYSBFRANK (4) has won his last two and has plenty of early speed, but this looks harder. HUNT THE MAGIC (6) and WORLD SECRET (7) are capable, but the draws hurt, and CHAMBRAY (8) is a novelty player from the draw. Tips: 9 3 5 1 Suggested Bet: AMBITSIYA (9) to win. Race 5 CABERNEIGH (2) has come back in superb fashion, he is a brilliant front runner with his early speed and am expecting him to dash to the top, wheel and deal and make every post a winner, very hard to beat. SWEET IVY (1) is on return and would’ve benefitted from a break and coming up in the system for the stable, can elevate. CHASING HILL (5) is racing well but will have to do some work here and looks hard to win but can still run in the placings. FOLLOW ROCKNROLL (7) is racing solidly, small field suits with his turn of foot, should hit the line nicely. LINEBACKER (3) can be kept safe on return; he could have a good campaign but might need this run. FRANCO MECCA (4) hit the line well last time out but is a novelty chance in this. Tips: 2 1 5 7 Suggested Bet: CABERNEIGH (2) to win. Race 6 MADAM PUBLISHER (6) is firing back to her best and has tremendous early speed, she could nearly ping to the top and from there looks hard to beat. ALTA TRIBUTE (5) was impressive to win from where he settled last time out, he will be further improved and looks hard to beat, just worried about his early speed, may have to do the work outside a good mare. MISTER RIDGEWELL (4) trialled up well, has good early speed and looks a solid place chance. CHILLIN (10) and BETTOR MOVE ALONG (9) are the novelty chances to have in the mix, tempo could suit them picking off some runners late in running. Tips: 6 5 4 9 Suggested Bet: MADAM PUBLISHER (6) to win. Race 7 STAR CASINO (8) has been racing strongly without being able to breakthrough, he has the times required to overcome the handicap but is short in the market for a horse who hasn’t won in 18 starts. TARTAN ROBYN (2) represents better value and is working through the preparation nicely and should settle close to the speed. CALLMEWHATUWANT (7) just needs some tempo, and he can be very dangerous late. FEELING ACES (3) better suited back to the stands and with a safe getaway, he should be close enough. MINOR CATASTROPHE (1) a novelty chance with the handicap advantage. Tips: 8 2 7 3 Suggested Bet: TARTAN ROBYN (2) each way. Race 8 Open race here. ROAD STAR (11) has got plenty of upside, but he also has a few tricks he likes to throw in, think this grade suits him and he will be getting home strongly. JILLIBY MOJITO (9) has elevated in recent runs and can be driven with authority, go well. IDEAL IVANA (8) is racing well with her times and the way she is finishing off, the draw suits her style and with even luck she can be dangerous. CONTROL QUEEN (1) not the worst from the draw, much better horse on the peg line. DOUBLE THE ANTE (3) should improve second up and has good early speed to boot. HOLD YOUR FIRE (4) should be fitter for the first up effort but the draw is a little awkward. SLAMMA ALABAMA (6) is a capable type but on return and from the draw he needs a few things to go his way. FOLLOW THEROCKSTAR (10) and SWITCH BLADE (12) both capable. Tips: 11 9 8 3 Suggested Bet: ROAD STAR (11) to win. Race 9 SONIC SEELSTER (8) is a chance to cross these, his gate speed has improved recently, and his form has been solid, it is a fast front line, but I think he could ping across and be hard to beat. HEAVENLY BLISS (5) has got early speed but is showing versatility and the draw looks to suit her not being far off the speed, go well. BEALAWYER (9) is a consistent performer and will run his usual race, he can win with even luck. THE FREELANCER (2) has the good draw and if he can hold the top he can win, will be close enough to earn. FEELING EMPATHY (1) might try and hold up over the short course but not at her best. COHLIN (6) also not at his best. Tips: 8 5 9 2 Suggested Bet: SONIC SEELSTER (8) to win. Market Market
