RACE 1 No.5 Outraged

Kelly Schweida trained galloper who looks over the odds here at double the each-way quote. Flashed home unexpectedly first up at Doomben over 1350 almost causing a $50 upset. Whilst his second up record to date isn’t good I like the fact he’s 4 weeks between runs stepping up to the mile tomorrow. Look for him to be steaming home strongly in the straight. Great value.

RACE 3 No.2 Happy Event

Youngster from the John Zielke stable who hasn’t started since engaging in a crazy speed battle at Toowoomba 9 weeks ago. He really didn’t do a bad job to wind up less than 6 lengths away on that occasion as his co-conspirator finished well down the track. Lightly raced he holds a good fresh record and will settle in the first couple here, with Josh Oliver’s claim he looks very well in carrying only 52kg.

RACE 6 No.2 Maurus

David Vandyke and Damian Browne combine here with this likely favourite who put in a blinder in the Group 1 Doomben Cup a month back. He loomed up very strongly in the straight on that occasion only peaking late to be beaten less than 2 lengths behind Our Ivanhowe. Prior to that he bolted in over 2200m at the same track, surely that form is head and shoulders above his opposition’s here.
