Harry Buchanan’s Thursday Greyhound Tips

NORTHAM

Race 4 No. 1 Rubble and No. 7 Georgia Flash

The 1 is boxed to spear and lead. Has hopefully had time to trial and great record off the inside. Gets his chance. The 7 is the danger and she does know her way around here. Will muster up and keep finding the line. Top 2 saver.

Race 5 No. 5 Prime Billie

Has won here in the past and while the form isn’t flash, she can turn it around in this company. Will need her best step but if she gives that, she will go fast here and be hard to stop.

Race 6 No. 8 Sanitized

They haven’t missed her here. Short enough but her best form wins this. Checked out of it in a much harder race last time but still made some ground. Box isn’t great but she is better than these with any luck. Her best chance to date at Northam.

Race 7 No. 3 Lucy’s Villa

Yes, he’s ready this dog. Placed both runs and good grade and company here and the draw is spot on. Can be the first do on the scene behind the red and will be very strong late. EW price and EW bird.

Race 8 No. 7 Turtle Fernando

This is it. He is the price to bet and he only has to step. It’s the only thing stopping him here. Goes fast after the start so needs to come out on terms at least. If he does, he can cross and that’s the end of that. They won’t catch him. Had a look here last week so no excuses this time at a great price.

Race 10 No. 8 Cindy Doyle and No. 2 All Over Katie

The 8 loves a bit of room and she gets that here. Will muster quickly to the first turn and got her experience at the track last week. Boxed to go well. The 2 was good behind Spin The Bottle last time when making late ground. Only needs to miss the red who can step well and cause wide running carnage early and she’s a threat.

Race 11 No. 3 Sudoku Linda

Very unlucky last start to be caught outside wayward customer. Showed speed to lead and was just snuck under at the first turn then run off. She can again spear again and will take some catching this time as long as no harm taken mentally from that run.

SANDOWN PARK

Race 4 No. 8 Bruce’s Ruslie and No. 2 Targod Shirley

Old mate Brucey steps up to the staying trip for the first time. He can show pace and cross then it’s a matter of running it out. Has won up to 680m so signs are good. The 2 can stay. She doesn’t have any real gear change for the sections but she grinds home all day and a few in this do struggle with the trip. Could get into it late.

Race 5 No. 6 Commander Tommy

The box doesn’t look great on paper but the map might pan out here. The 5 goes quick and can give this bloke some early room to balance up. Made ground in his semi and will again go well with a clear run at the EW quote.

Race 7 No. 1 If You Say and No. 8 Launch Code

Our boy in the red here has run 4th at $101 his last two starts through this series and finally draws a box. A little flat through the first turn but if he can get through that he can work home into the placings here. He has ability. The 8 will go well here. Musters up down the outside and can run time when clear. Goes well track and trip and has a 29.37 here. No pace directly inside see him a chance.

Race 8 No. 4 Al’s Entity and No. 1 Dragon Inn

The Launching Pad final. Some very promising dogs who will go on to do good things. The 4 is just a price that has to be played. Has a huge engine and gets the first turn fence run here. Will charge home at odds and can hit the frame. The 1 can surprise as well. He put in a great effort behind Starline Express last week off the same box and does have a good record track and trip. Can figure if he holds up early.

Race 12 No. 7 Springview Noah

Has a few weeks off so we will give him another go here. Has been racing good company and this is much easier and while his better form is over the middle trip, he can go fast through the back here and move himself in a striking spot. Don’t dismiss him.

ANGLE PARK

Race 3 No. 6 Ravers Army

With this being a match race, this bloke looks a play. Opened at a ridiculous quote and even at $2.90 and $1.35, he’s a go for the big punters here who enjoy their bank interest bets. Won’t be missing a place if all things go to plan in his match and can win it overall as he’s a very fast dog under these conditions.

Race 8 No. 2 Aston Arena and No. 3 Springvale Rex

The 2 led a long way last week only to be nabbed late by the enigmatic Machismo. Expect her to again show speed and go for the arm and the full field can only help. The 3 has had a huge amount of racing lately and is again backing up off a Mt Gambier Cup. If he’s standing up to the work load he can win. Gets great map here and was good in his heat late.
