She loomed large on straightening but couldn’t quite reel in Here For Cheques. It was her first race since July 2022 so the fact she’s 4 weeks between runs is understandable. Considering the way Rusty Spirit is going we’ll follow up with the Cliff Smith & Jo Leeson trained mare in a pretty moderate maiden. BILL SELECTS has shown glimpses from time to time. The third behind Alaskalot after leading will always stick in the mind and her effort on speed last start behind Zouboltz sees her measure up in this. FIELD OF BATTLE settled in a different postcode to the leaders last start and never got into the race at any stage. Running out of chances. SLAVICA ran well last start and finished a long way in front of Field of Battle. Numbers: 9 – 11 – 1 – 12 Suggested Bet – PERFECT BUBBLES WIN RACE 2 RULER ROCKET got attacked in the early and middle stages at his return to racing. Loved both of his trials behind Rusty Dreams and Estimator and considering the pre-race comments of trainer Bruce Watkins they may elect to take a sit here on speedy pair Stormy Tawny and Military Power. He’s worth following. KOSTA’S CROWN is another who should be suited by the better speed. Jordan Turner had his hands full fresh when he wanted to over-race behind a ridiculously slow tempo. The faster they go the better for him. UNIVERSAL FLAIR enjoys a similar trailing run to first-up when winning in style. STORMY TAWNY keeps finding under pressure. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – RULER ROCKET WIN RACE 3 GIVEMEONEREASON won a maiden at Northam holding out Bonjoy and then went to a 3 year old 0MWLY when finishing fourth behind My Bella Mae and Admiration Express. Finished his preparation off when tramping wide throughout and beaten 4.6L by My Bella Mae and Prawns Eleven. Really quiet trial, drawn barrier 1 to kick through or take a trail and Simon Miller’s yard is white hot at the minute. Nice race for him. DEEP ENVY went from a 1000m straight maiden win to running into undefeated filly Rusty Dreams. Loomed large outside of her and was only fought off late. CRUISE TO VICTORY is quirky but talented. DUSTYPARK pulled out a run fresh. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – GIVEMEONEREASON WIN RACE 4 HOW’S THE SERENITY is so well suited at SWP. Last preparation she won the Summer Scorcher with 54kg, won the Miss Andretti with 56kg and then flopped when an alarming late drifter in betting with 59kg in the Scenic Blast. She meets stablemate Angelic Miss a whopping 6kg better at the weights from the Scenic Blast and is a gun fresh. She’ll fire straight to the top and takes serious running down. ANGELIC MISS similar goes best fresh but at the weights she will need to go to another level again. She’ll concede weight and a head start to How’s The Serenity. EXPRESS TIME can stalk the every move of How’s The Serenity. GUNMETAL GREY chases hard. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – HOW’S THE SERENITY WIN RACE 5 WICKED FOX seems to have turned a corner. Second to Alaskalot three starts ago (beating home dual subsequent winner Rusty Spirit), third behind Rusty Spirit and subsequent winner Buckeye Bullet and then second in a C3 behind Vast Art (huge in defeat in a C5 since). Drops back to a C1, draws to enjoy a soft run and looks ready to finally win one. MAKTASTIC has a senior rider going on, drops back in distance and is drawn to kick through and either lead or hold the back of Boy Blue. KIA ORA JEWEL is not an easy mare to catch but she’s racing well enough to pinch a race like this. FAT ROY SLIM was enormous last start. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – WICKED FOX WIN RACE 6 ALL MAN sat three wide throughout last start when battling away to finished 3L behind Friar Away. Meets that galloper 4.5kg better at the weights and looks the kind of animal who will appreciate a full 2400m. He gets better and better the deeper they go into the campaign and the way that Steph Bakranich’s yard is going (Playing Marika, Buckeye Bullet winning races and Valdarena, Silver Bugg, Ghobella knocking on the door) thinking he’s an eachway chance in an open race. FRIAR AWAY has found his old form again. Winner of his last two and will sit out the back and wait for the race to unfold. Provided he doesn’t get held up along the fence he’ll be finishing off hard. GOLD FRIARS burst onto the scene last start as an upcoming staying type. CRUISEY ROY drops out of the 3 year old Series. 3.4L off Another Chino, Demolish and Playhouse Patron reads well for this. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ALL MAN EACHWAY RACE 7 CYWER is the beneficiary of the Luke Campbell claim. She’s got enough tactical speed to hold a position relatively close from the favourable alley and she gets back down to 57.5kg after carrying 59.5 last start. That was a race which was dominated on top of the speed and against the fence (Rusty Spirit, Call Again and Guard The Safe) so willing to forgive and forget her moderate performance. She’s finished in the top 2 at 7 of 9 and this is winnable for her. FLOWER IN THE WIND won a C3 at 1500m and then went to 2200m last start. Now drops back in distance to 1600m. She’s racing well but not convinced barrier 1 is of any assistance to her. BUCKEYE BULLET put in a blinder first-up and duly saluted second-up. RUSTY SPIRIT has come of age this preparation. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – CYWER WIN RACE 8 TREVERN was better than it may look on paper at his return to racing. He struck a track where the best part was the inside and cutaway zone. He is a horse who notoriously runs up the track in the home straight. He was zapped up his inside by Excelestial and the horse he ran up the track in Major Max has well and truly franked the form since. Kept fresh and takes running down. BORN TO TALK is about as honest and consistent as they come. He can park just behind Trevern. SENORITA DOROTEA continues to attack the line. She’s not far off a win. DESERT VIXEN will park out the back and come with one late sprint. She’s a pattern dependent mare. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – TREVERN WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 3,5,6,7,8 1,2,4,6 1,2,8 2,3,6,8 Market Market
