CANNINGTON

Race 2 No. 5 It’s A Dime

It looks a two-dog race and a simple matter of the 5 stepping and getting right behind the 7. She wins from there with her stronger run home and overall best of 34.65. She does need to miss the 7 somewhat early with her sharp cross however. Good battle coming up. If the 7 gets away she won’t be caught.

Race 4 No. 2 Superman Keeping and No. 4 Clifton Cruz

The 2 finally gets a decent draw over the trip. He needs to use it and put himself up inside the red first turn. Can go with it from there and hit the podium. The 4 gets one more chance to show his staying worth. Knocked out of it last week. Can go much better.

Race 5 No. 6 Ben Mayo

He needs to step as well as both the 7 and 8 and hold those dogs out early. He can and if he does, he then becomes very very hard to beat. He’s ready and his last run showed that. Start critical.

Race 6 No. 4 Borlotti Monelli

He’s actually drawn to get a good run here and if he can smoke the pipe on the fence early, he will go through the gears up the back to take all sorts of stopping here. Fastest dog in the race. Big show.

Race 8 No. 7 Youthful Spirit

Has opened a monster quote for this. $7.50 available on the open and that’s just wrong. She is the best dog in this race, well boxed and unleashes a big section up the back. Just needs a clean getaway here. Huge chance.

Race 10 No. 3 Lentil Monelli

So which one turns up. There are two of her. One can do some serious things wrong and have her mind on anything but chasing, the other can just do serious things. By that, I mean run serious time. Has any amount of ability. If she brings it, these are all racing for silver.

Race 11 No. 8 Couch Surfer

Last chance. The box gives him one more go. Got up there early last start then squeezed out before making ground late again. Can reel off fast sections and has a quick win here already. He’s talented and an hit top two.

THE MEADOWS

Race 2 No. 3 Serena Bale

Boxed to get the first turn run again here and she will develop into a nice stayer later on. Has a good middle and bigger last section and can run on again into the placings with some early luck.

Race 5 No. 2 Kai Bale

Big win last week after a couple of unlucky efforts. Has an electric turn of foot up the back and he sustains that all the way to the line which makes him very hard to stop. Drawn to get a great run again and is EW odds so therefore a big go to hit the podium.

Race 6 No. 4 Piscopo Bale

She will be double figures but she has a good map here and can settle much more forward going up the back which is where she runs into it. Closed off well when last here a few runs back in good company. Can run a race at odds.

Race 8 No. 1 Punters Bandit and No. 2 Wrangler Jane

The red put in one of the biggest runs I have ever seen at WP last start. Made up ground like nobody’s’ business and simply shouldn’t have got that close. Had to have been 12-14 off them up the back. Beaten 1.7. First time here but if she steps and handles the circuit she wins. Small spec EW on the 2. Will be any old price but can surprise here and hit the placings.

Race 9 – The Phoenix

WENTWORTH PARK

Race 7 No. 2 Stagger Out Lee

Monster run last start at the Gardens. Checked several times but kept charging through the field and stormed into 2nd. Better suited here and only has to get a position around the first turn and she’s the one to stop. Great EW bet here.

Race 8 No. 1 Good Odds Emma and No. 6 Zipping Alabama

Christmas Gift final. The 1 will step but she does take a few to the right after box rise. The dogs immediately outside are not blessed with box speed so she can get away with that here and lead. Becomes very hard to stop from there. The 6 is a big place heavy save here. Will get over to the fence then charge through gears and smash the line late. Any trouble and she will capitalise.

Race 10 No. 2 Silver Luck

This looks his race. Big runs his last few against the better stayers and no reason he just can’t roll straight to the front here and give them a stack to catch. Placed perfectly and his record here makes him a super play.
