Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on December 16, 2022December 16, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 THE GUAVA had no luck in the home straight first up and draws to have clear air. RIVER RIBBLE ran well in the same race both horses look suited stepping up to 1200m. RIVER NOIRE impressed winning her maiden on debut, she rises in grade, but looks promising and the stable is flying. SHE DANCES, a stablemate to River Noire, will make her own luck. Selections: 5,3,12,4 Suggested Bet: The Guava each way Race 2 ALL ABOUT EVE has returned in great form, if she can transfer that form down the straight she’ll be hard to beat. COTEL looks promising and may control the speed. FOR REAL LIFE looked unlucky last start and is drawn to be running on late. DAZZLING LUCY has jumped out well and generally fires first up. NO WAY EVER has a hope. Selections: 4,7,5,9 Suggested Bet: All About Eve each way Race 3 POUNDING backs up from after being narrowly beaten by a promising galloper last week. He rises in weight, but drops in grade and gets J. Kah. ARRAN BAY won well second up and is drawn for a great run. UNANIMOUS will probably settle back in the field and be strong late. BELTORO may need some luck from the inside draw, but will also be closing off strongly. EXCELLERATION has jumped out ok and boasts a strong first up record. Selections: 7,4,3,5 Suggested Bet: Pounding to win Race 4 Competitive race. AWESOME JOHN brings some different form lines, he’s building a good record and stays down in the weights with the rise in grade. DESPERADO impressed at his Australian debut, he had the pattern to suit but should appreciate the rise in trip. FREEDOM ESCAPE will strip fitter third up and is another that should appreciate a rise in distance. HASSELTOFF and HOLLYWOOD PARK have claims. Selections: 14,9,11,12 Suggested Bet: Awesome John each way Race 5 INVINCIBLE CAVIAR won well last start after having excuses at her prior start and handed the straight course quite well on debut. MUNHAMEK has been freshened and jumped out well, he should be strong late at 1200m. SNAPPER will make his own luck and the form around him is holding up well. ZAC DE BOSS is effective doen the straight and should appreciate stepping up to 1200m. WILLIAM THOMAS looked unlucky last start, but can bring about his own bad luck due to his racing style. Selections: 12,6,3,1 Suggested Bet: Invincible Caviar to win Race 6 PERSAN is posted at the top of the weights, but is coming through the strongest form lines and racing well enough to be the one to beat. NOBEL HEIGHTS should be approaching peak fitness and is also coming through some strong form lines. CORMORANT is racing as though the rise in trip will suit as is ADELAIDE ACE. WINIFER rises in grade and trip but at least is still on the up. Selections: 1,3,4,2 Suggested Bet: Quinella/Exacta 1 & 3 Race 7 ROSE QUARTZ closed off well behind Jigsaw last start. She might be better suited over slightly further, but there appears to be good speed to allow her to finish strongly over the top. HALVORSEN loves the straight course and will also appreciate a strong tempo up front. ESTA LA ROCA will be part of that tempo and can give sight. PARSIFAL resumes without a trial or jumpout and any late market moves could prove telling. Selections: 6,1,2,3 Suggested Bet: Rose Quartz to win Race 8 UMGAWA won well first up following some encouraging jumpouts, he looks even better suited stepping up to 1400m. CORNER POCKET ran well first up in the same race as Umgawa and has the tactical speed to offset the wide draw. MORVADA will roll forward and looks a key winning hope. EDISON gets blinkers third up and may be ready to improve. NICOLINO VITO is fit and racing well. Selections: 9,1,2,6 Suggested Bet: Umgawa each way Race 9 Tough finish. INDIFFERENCE didn’t have much luck last start and will be strong late at 1400m. NABOO STAR will also be strong late and has jumped out well between runs. CORONA LAD has also jumped out nicely between runs and chased a smart mare last time. VICTORY BAY is fit and racing well for an in-form stable. HE’S EXCEPTIONAL, BEAUFORT PARK and MICRO are in the mix in a deep race. Selections: 15,9,7,12 Suggested Bet: Indifference each way Market Market
