Harry Buchanan’s Friday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on June 9, 2023June 9, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 1 No. 2 Risky Assassin Nothing more than a miracle run at the first turn can help this one. Yet there is some chance this gets messy. At the quote, he could be the dog that gets the Bradbury here and that means he gets a very small EW spec. Race 3 No. 1 Pyroclasm Copped a fair amount of early trouble for the small field last start. Never got comfortable after that but still battled on well. Won the Northam Oaks before having it called a “no race” and taken from her. Showed speed that day and can do so here again off the red draw. Gets her chance now. Race 4 No. 2 Escape Plan Superb run last week when stepping well but copping enough checks to let the leader get away. Recovered to mow her down to just miss by a short margin and moves to a good draw this week. A similar effort will see him get the money. Race 5 No. 2 Rocky Balboa Gets the better draw this time and will be able to show his good box speed to hold the front which is where he does his best work. Has a sub 16 here not long back and is racing well enough to produce it again. Start critical but if he gets it right then he’s the one to beat. Race 6 No. 4 All Spiked Up and No. 7 Scared Lomar Good race this and map is ugly. The dog in 2 can again cause issues so looking for the 4 to get the run through here. Checked at a vital time last week when running into it even if he wasn’t going to win. He had all chance taken away. The 7 can surprise here with his early speed. Ran another ripper behind Daphs Yak last week and could dross here if he out-speeds the checks. Don’t dismiss. Race 8 No. 2 Barrio Beast and No. 3 Launch Control Another good contest. While I don’t think the 2 is a corner start dog, he does have the draw to offset that here. Only has to beat Elliptical out and he puts himself in a winning position m. The 3 will again play for the fence. He will get the right run one day and that could be here. Some wider runners to help that case this time. Watch for him late. Race 10 No. 3 Close Contact Disappointed a fraction last week but prepared to go again as he has raced some handy 380 dogs and well. Well boxed and can find the fence early here and go his sub 22. Great EW price and can figure with his consistent form at the track and trip. Race 11 No. 8 Barefoot Wah Wah Spec play here to see if she can step as she has a nice turn of foot. Not entirely suited to corner starts as she likes to muster but with a few hard lefts inside here she could sneak around quickly here. Small EW go to find the arm. Race 12 No. 2 Jimali One more chance in the small field. Racing without luck and getting back but will get her best chance here to land close and finish off. Has ability and while she is struggling to break through, she can get the trip and can surprise here. One more go to hit top two. Market Market
