Greg’s Belmont Preview Posted on July 22, 2016July 25, 2016 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 JAZARI improved sharply at his most recent start when charged clear late for an impressive win. Any give in the surface will enhance his chances. GANGBUSTER was a strong winner in midweek grade. He can settle closer from a good draw. QUEEN’S PARADE made ground on debut and then was tipped out for a spell. She has trialled well and Pike takes the ride. GOLGOTHA has first-four claims. Numbers – 1 – 3 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – Jazari win RACE 2 STATE SOLICITOR looks a very smart horse and he should be making it four straight wins. YOU’RE A RUM’IN was an impressive fresh winner. He should run second. UPTOWN FUNK has place claims. LAURENSEN leads and gives come cheek. Numbers – 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – First Four 1 / 4 / 2, 3 / 2, 3, 6, 8 RACE 3 BOMBS AWAY was impressive last week when he parked just behind the speed and was too strong. This is a rise in class but he drops down to 52kg and should get a lovely run from gate 5. BLACK DYNAMITE got the job done first-up. He improves off that effort and will be hard to hold out. SECRET NOVA should get a lovely run from gate 1. ROGER THE ROMAN will settle of the speed and find the line strongly. Numbers – 5 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – Bombs Away and Black Dynamite RACE 4 IT’S IT looks a terrific chance to break through for a much deserved win. He should cross from wide to either lead or breeze and take plenty of running down. STOCKS looks close to a win and he should get a lovely run from gate 1. DENDEE will get back and find the line strongly. SWEET AS BRO can settle closer from a good draw and has claims. Numbers – 6 – 2 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – It’s It win RACE 5 THE FLIRT trounced his rivals last week when he revelled in the soft going. This race has more depth and he won’t hit such a wet surface however he improves off that run and the quick back-up suits. I’M FEELING LUCKY looks the leader again. She is tough and be hard to get past. PROPERANTES should improve sharply on his last run where he didn’t appear to appreciate racing without cover. THUNDERCLAP NEWMAN is a query at the trip but has claims again. Numbers – 8 – 4 -1 – 3 Suggested Bet – The Flirt win RACE 6 JETOOMY had plenty of excuses in the Dayana. Although he wouldn’t have beaten the winner JUICING CARROTS he should have certainly finished a clear second. At the prices happy to be aboard him. JUICING CARROTS just needs to hold form to be awfully hard to beat. ROSMARTINI is tough and will give a big sight in front. FAMOUS SOMEDAY next best. Numbers – 3 – 2 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – Jetoomy save Juicing Carrots RACE 7 Wide open sprint. SHE RULES ALL is better suited over 1200m plus however she has trialled well and she should tag the speed and be strong at the finish. UNIVERSAL MOON is a handy mare who goes well fresh and she has drawn to get the run of the race. STABLE SECRET excels at this trip. AUDIENCE backs up after an impressive win at Pinjarra and Pike rides. Numbers – 4 – 6 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – She Rules All each-way RACE 8 CRONKITE looks the best of the day. He resumed from a spell for his new trainer and toyed with his rivals over 1200m. The rise to 1400m looks ideal and he just needs clear room and he should win again. BOURBON DYNASTY was a big winner on the rain affected surface last start. She has claims again. ALL TOO MUCH is in career best form. BARAKI BEATS leads and gives a sight on speed. Numbers – 10 – 3 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – Cronkite wins QUADDIE RACE 5 – 1, 3, 4, 8 RACE 6 – 2, 3, 7 RACE 7 – Field RACE 8 – 10 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now!” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2016-07-23/pr” linkrel=””]
