Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 13, 2016May 17, 2016 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: HOUSE RULES ON SEVEN 2YO MS PACE EL BARCELONA (7) is possibly the most talented 2YO in the state but has only managed to win one of his three starts. He was huge in defeat when breezing in 1.53.8 two starts ago before doing things wrong last start and can bounce back here. OUR ZAK WHITBY (6) ran on for a good 3rd last start and should be charging home again. CAMELOT SPIRIT (4) and WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (3) both have solid form and a barrier advantage over their main rivals. Tips: 7 6 4 3 Suggested Bet: EL BARCELONA (7) to win. Race 2: SEVEN NEWS MS PACE CRUSADER BANNER (2) was competitive during the Inters and resumes here after a break. He warmed up with a dominant Byford trial win and looks the leader and should be very hard to catch. OUR ARLINGTON (9) has similar ability to the favourite but is drawn wide. BURNING (6) and THIS TIME DYLAN (7) are the other class runners in the field but have awkward draws to overcome. Tips: 2 9 6 7 Suggested Bet: CRUSADER BANNER (2) to win. Race 3: SUNRISE ON SEVEN 3YO MS PACE KING LEBRON (7) has led throughout in easier company to win three of his last four starts with the other being a close up 6th to Mach Time when he didn’t have much luck. He is drawn wide here but looks to be in for a good campaign. EL HOMBRE (1) has disappointed after winning two on end in good fashion but could be an improver from the pole. CAMPORA (4) and CHOK CHAI (10) were both close up behind Mach Time two starts back and that is good form for this race. Tips: 7 1 4 10 Suggested Bet: KING LEBRON (7) to win. Race 4: TODAY TONIGHT HANDICAP SS PACE BETTOR OFFER (8) railed through at the start to lead last week and it was a procession from that point on as he chalked up an easy victory. He goes back 10m tonight but should be fitter and is clearly the one to beat. ASSASSINATOR (2) never saw daylight and was bolting last week and is right up to this. DONEGAL CHOKIN (3) probably has to lead to be a winning chance but will be hard to catch if he does find the top. BETTOR PARTY (11) was a good 3rd to BETTOR OFFER (8) last week and shouldn’t be too far away. Tips: 8 2 3 11 Suggested Bet: BETTOR OFFER (8) to win. Race 5: HOME AND AWAY BREEDERS STAKES PRELUDE MS PACE QUITE A DELIGHT (6) was a great 2nd to The Parade in 1.53.2 before disappointing at her last start. She has had a short break since that effort and will be hard to beat if she produces her best. JUNGLE JEWEL (1) is likely to take a sit tonight and will be hard to hold out if she gets clear running late. LEDA MCNALLY (2) could be a big improver if she can find the top. Stablemates DELIGHTFUL JADE (7) and IDEAL ALICE (8) were both impressive last start winners and can overcome their wide draws. Tips: 6 1 2 7 Suggested Bet: JUNGLE JEWEL (1) each way. Race 6: THE CHASE ON SEVEN MS PACE LETTUCERIPRITA (9) had his chance last week but was still far from disgraced when 3rd to Glenlochar in a sizzling 1.54.9 for the 2130m. He is drawn wide but inside his main rivals and could end up enjoying a nice run. PHOENIX WARRIOR (11) hasn’t had the race run to suit recently but is classy and could be value from out here. CHANGE GEAR (10) was impressive in breezing and winning over this distance in 1.54.2 last week and must be respected. MACHS A PEARLER (1) looks the early leader and could be a big improver. Tips: 9 11 10 1 Suggested Bet: PHOENIX WARRIOR (11) each way. Race 7: CHANNEL SEVEN MS PACE RUN ONEOVER (4) was a gallant 3rd in the Golden Nugget before being unplaced in the Fremantle and WA Pacing cups. He resumes here without a trial but looks very hard to beat from his nice draw. NORVIC NIGHTOWL (7) raced his way through the classes impressively and a recent dominant Byford trial indicates he is in for a good campaign. MOHEGAN SUN (1) is drawn to get a perfect run and can be placed. CHANGE STRIDE (9) is racing extremely well but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 4 7 1 9 Suggested Bet: RUN ONEOVER (4) to win. Race 8: X FACTOR ON SEVEN THE PURE STEEL QUALIFYING HEAT 2 OFFTOCULLECT (2) resumed from a break with a strong win over Glenlochar and then couldn’t get into the race from a wide barrier last week. He is the best drawn of the main chances and should be hard to beat. TWOANDAHALF TIGERS (6) is yet to miss a place from his ten starts this season and has the strength to breeze and be right in the finish. VC MANOUVRE (10) and NAUGHTY MARAVU (9) fought out a recent Bunbury event and both can figure here. Tips: 2 6 10 9 Suggested Bet: OFFTOCULLECT (2) to win. Race 9: 7FLIX MS PACE HOLY GRAIL (12) was held up at a crucial stage but flashed for a close 2nd last start to continue his consistent form. He has the same barrier again but will be hard to hold out if he gets the right cart into the race. COMMANDER CHAPEL (11) faced the breeze and ran 3rd in the same race and must be respected. OUR BIG SLOW (2) ran a good 3rd in 1.54.6 for the 2130m last week and should be thereabouts. AEREUS MAXIMUS (5) pushed Mach Time at his last start and is a definite chance if he can reproduce that effort. Tips: 12 11 2 5 Suggested Bet: HOLY GRAIL (12) each way. Race 10: TELETHON WESTBRED MS PACE ALL WILLIAMS (6) put the writing on the wall with a strong 3rd to Tommy Be Good here before running on from the rear to win at Northam. This field is only marginally stronger and he appeals as the one to beat. GUNS WITH COWS (8) beat ALL WILLIAMS (6) three runs back and could do so again if he can use his gate speed to advantage. SEA ME SMILE (10) and JUMPING AT SHADOWS (1) are both racing fairly and should enjoy nice trips on the pegline. Tips: 6 8 10 1 Suggested Bet: ALL WILLIAMS (6) to win. Bet Now
