RACE 1

Liked the look of ZARDOZI charging away to score here last start on a heavy surface. Whilst that’s not likely to be the case here her only other start was also a win however this time on a much drier track (soft 5). The step up in distance looks ideal for her. QUASIMOTO has no early speed however can find the line, first time beyond 1100m shouldn’t prove a negative.

RACE 2

TITRATION resumes off a short let-up however won a trial just over a week back & gets J. Mac to do the steering. Very consistent towards the end of his last prep he has had one run this time in when narrowly beaten racing on speed at Newcastle. DOLLAR MAGIC can figure with luck from the wide draw as can ACOTANGO who has drawn more favourably.

RACE 3

The form lines point strongly to the lightly raced SHADOWS OF LOVE who beat Olentia here last start before losing the race on protest, Olentia came out & won at Randwick last Saturday in Group 3 company. She’ll race up on the speed & get her chance to make it 3 wins from 6 starts. MOONLIGHT GRACE is another who is only lightly raced with a good record, strong recent trial winner however will need luck from the wide draw.

RACE 4

Poor gate for BISCAYNE BAY however I’m going to stick with her here. She accepted for Eagle Farm last Saturday before being scratched, she was also nominated for Warwick Farm on Wednesday however didn’t run there either. She has the right form, is out to the right trip, just need her to stay firm in the market, any noted drift may suggest she needs the run. UK import UNSPOKEN ran well at his Australian debut, the imports can sometimes bounce second up? STRAWBERRY ROCK has only been beaten once first up which was last prep, keep safe.

RACE 5

Keen on the resuming FIRE whose latest run can be forgiven when out of the placings in the Group 1 Lightning down the Flemington straight. He was never going to figure in the finish there however his previous form is very consistent & he ticks a lot of boxes here having a good fresh record, winning a recent trial & having the ability to handle all types of going. James Cummings has the resuming & promising RED CARD engaged, raced well last prep before out of the money latest run where there were excuses.

RACE 6

Although I’m a little concerned about the big weight I will lean to ANDERMATT who comes out of the Group 1 Galaxy last start when beaten just over 3 lengths. He was held up in the early part of the straight & could have finished closer, he’ll need a little luck off the inside gate however the right man is onboard to look after that. Stablemate ATHELRIC is never far away. Good gate will ensure he’s handy in the run. The mare A VERY FINE RED was good fresh running on, second up record is solid.

RACE 7

KOTE was very good running home hard from the back at successive outings before leading last start & knocking right up, that’s not his go at all, my big query with him though is 1400m? To the eye he’ll relish it however both tries have been average. Don’t see much wrong with THE FORTUNE TELLER’s form & he is proven at the trip coming back from the mile win last start, I’ll lean his way.

RACE 8

We see plenty of UK imports however very few from the US however we’ve got one here & she goes very well PRINCESS GRACE. Just peaked late first up in the Group 2 & should take plenty of benefit fitness wise from the race. Her turf form back home rates highly however she does need a dry track, the soft (7) didn’t suit at Randwick however her class carried her into the placings. TYCOON EVIE now with the Snowden’s should have won fresh, luckless!

RACE 9

Absolute raffle the Hawkesbury Gold Cup. Going to suggest a few dollars each-way HOPEFUL who resumes in the same race he did last year when running 2^nd beaten less than a length on a heavy (9) surface. He then won second up suggesting he does come to hand very quickly & a softish track would be ideal. FLOATING ARTIST good fresh, fitter, needs luck from the wide gate. LORD ARDMORE should score a cosy run for the ‘magic man’.

RACE 10

SPANGLER was dominant winning the Provincial Championships however his form is clearly superior the wetter the track is. If it’s in the heavy range here I’d want to be with him however that’s not likely. I’ll lean to the resuming & lightly raced ESTADIO MESTALLA who is unbeaten fresh & draws perfectly, Moreira should be able to give him a perfect run in transit. LOCH EAGLE has to be included, beat SPANGLER two back on a drier (soft 6) surface.
