Chris Nelson’s Saturday Eagle Farm Preview Posted on September 12, 2024September 12, 2024 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 Racing returns to Eagle Farm on Saturday for the first time since mid/late July, rail true as you’d expect. We get things under way with a 3yo affair over 1400m where I’m going wide & putting ELECTRIC BRAE on top at odds, she put in a cracking run at the Sunshine Coast first up running on after being tailed off early. Back 100m last start at Rocky wasn’t suitable yet she wasn’t far away, rising to 1400m today she can run a race. TESSATORI has hit her straps winning her past couple, claim helps, will figure once again. WITHOUT DELAY did a bit wrong on debut yet still got the job done, much wiser for it. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet: ELECTRIC BRAE EACH-WAY. RACE 2 Keen on the chances of DREAM LANTERN who has only had the 4 starts to date winning twice. She had very little luck first up at Ipswich before winning effortlessly same track second time around, she now comes to town taking on tougher opposition however with less weight, hard to beat. Nothing wrong with LAYDOWNLILY’s second-up effort after a tough fresh win, 1400m won’t be an issue. PIPISTRELLE is ex-NSW now trained out of Rockhampton, going great guns up there & can measure up. Numbers: 11 – 4 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet: DREAM LANTERN TO WIN. RACE 3 JOHN RAMBO didn’t disappoint first up when clocking in 3rd as favourite, the way that race mapped he was always going to be up against it & ended up going around unders. He’s much better placed around here & has the record to prove it, big weight however I’ll side with him. Going to throw DROP THE MIC in the mix, only reasonably new to the area he ran a couple of nice races at the back end of his last prep & he’s not been off the scene for all that long, placed 6 of 9 fresh. LOST HIS BEANS won well first up, lightly raced with good upside. Numbers: 3 – 14 – 19 – 16 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics. RACE 4 Keen on the chances off the Coffs Harbour trained EXTRA MANNERS who although only lightly raced has shown he can really savage the line. He flew home to win two back at Grafton before being held up the entire straight at Doomben when looking to have a lot to offer, first time out to 1800m looks very suitable. TRIPLE MONEY can bounce back off a well beaten performance last week, pulled up with a couple of issues though & can improve sharply. KOKONOTSU can also improve, he needs to though. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 13 Suggested Bet: EXTRA MANNERS TO WIN. RACE 5 MUSCHIALLI the tip here should the track remain dry. He’s never far away & is a good price however he needs two things in his favour being a good draw & a good surface, he’s got one, should he get the other then he’s right in the hunt. If not, I’ll lean to GODFATHER who has always had a few wraps on him, liked his first up win at Ipswich (gelded) & he just might be able to go on with it here. LIQUOR won’t be far away, never is & he’s in good form at present. MR GALAZI if nothing else deserves a win, opposite to MUSCHIALLI he would appreciate a wet track. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet: MUSCHIALLI EACH-WAY (small bet, dry track only). RACE 6 MANHOOD is very consistent & gets his chance to break through today. Placed all 3 runs since resuming from a break he races on speed & gets the right gate & map likely landing behind the lead on the fence with the last shot in the straight. Backmarkers JAYANTHI & TRIBECA STAR will be motoring late, how fast the leaders go will determine their chances. EVOCATOR won first up last prep however was aided by a very strong speed up front. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet: MANHOOD TO WIN. RACE 7 Low speed here suggesting early tactics could be all important. MENAZZI clocked in 3rd behind VIMINELE at Doomben last start with the winner only really falling in. MENAZZI had a tough 3 wide trip & gave plenty to only go under by 0.6L, there’s no weight advantage either way however MENAZZI maps to lead which could be all important & note VIMINELE now gets to that pointy end of the weights (60kg). SUPER CHILLED in the place mix, no clear run at Doomben last start over the final 150m. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet: MENAZZI EACH-WAY (small bet). RACE 8 The very smart FAR TOO EASY resumes from a break here with a 4 from 6 first up record. He’s the class runner in the race however will have to lump 61kg & get home over the top of the leaders from the back as he’s not a go forward type. I’m leaning to the in-form HIDDEN WEALTH who will be right up on the speed from the inside draw, off the scene since late June he’s won a lead-up trial & gets 7.5kg off FAR TOO EASY, his record around this track is another positive. KING KAPA next best. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet: HIDDEN WEALTH & FAR TOO EASY TO WIN. RACE 9 Going to take the punt here & go with the widely drawn REDFORD who draws a poor gate however has proven himself to be a versatile type at his 3 starts to date. A winner at each of those outings they’ve been from both back & handy, with the light weight & added fitness I can see him zooming down the outside once they hit the straight. CORFE CASTLE may have been in need of the run last start, fitter here he can improve plenty & does map well. BULLION BOY, QUOTHQUAN & POSEIDON RULER all ran well at their latest start & rate winning chances. Numbers: 15 – 5 – 4 – 13 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics. Market Market
