Chris Nelson’s Rosehill Best Bets

RACE 4 No.8 Ringmaster

Although yet to reach any great heights he’s a galloper I’ve had my eye on right from when he first hit the trials. Perhaps this preparation will be the making of him and judging by his first up win at Canterbury he’s certainly heading in the right direction. Parked 3rd in the run he was far too strong over the concluding stages coming clear late. The step up in trip shouldn’t concern and the kind draw should ensure an economical trip.

RACE 7 No.8 Spacewalk

Quality 3yo from the Godolphin operation who returns to the track on Saturday having scored a recent barrier trial win at Warwick Farm. Stiff not to win fresh last prep he clocked in second at Listed level in the Rosebud, he then finished right behind the placegetters in the Group 3 San Domenico before back to Listed grade losing on protest at Flemington. He looks better than these.

RACE 10 No.2 Kir Royale

Looks well placed to bring up the win third run back from a break on Saturday. There doesn’t look to be a great tempo likely in this race which will suit as she likes to camp up on the speed. Her first up run was a good one and she wasn’t far away last time behind a very promising type who was clearly a class above, the drop back to 1100m certainly won’t harm either.
