Chris Nelson’s Rosehill Best Bets

RACE 5 No.9 Le Gai Soleil

With plenty of rain Thursday on a track which was already affected we could well be racing on a heavy surface come Saturday at Rosehill. That’s going to suit this lightly raced mare from the Waterhouse/Bott yard who’s won three races on Soft/Heavy ground. She’s going to strip fitter for the first up win on the Kensington track and figures to measure up to Saturday company.

RACE 6 No.2 Captivant

The million dollar Golden Gift is the days feature and it’s tough to go past this colt from the team Snowden yard. He looked the goods on debut winning with plenty of authority at Randwick in the Victory Vein back in October and can only improve with the race experience. Just has to handle the wet ground to give this a massive shake.

RACE 7 No.10 Wandabaa

Super consistent mare who gets her chance to break through tomorrow in the Group 2 Hot Danish. Placed at both Group 2 and 3 level her past couple she is yet to register a win beyond 1200m however she’s hit the line well enough in longer races to suggest it won’t be an issue. She handles all types of ground with 4 wins on Soft/Heavy going to her credit.
