Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 18, 2025August 18, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 Open race to kick off. MADDY ROCKS (3) is having her first run for Luke Edwards and only had the one trial for previous trainer Cody Wallrodt, which was very impressive, she was then scratched from a race. MADDY ROCKS (3) should have the residual work required to suggest a strong forward showing even though it’s been a long time since we’ve seen her, expecting a bold run. MISS STEFANI (6) did the work last run and weakened; she is capable. JOLTED CHARM (2) drawn to be handy and feel her form, although not at her best has improved slightly. CHERRY ON THE CAKE (5) disappointed me last run and hard to put a finger on what happened there. AMERICAN MONARCH (7) will be getting home well and MISS UNEEK (8) second up and probably has the most class heading forward but still will be a challenge from the draw. Tips: 3 6 8 7 Suggested Bet: MADDY ROCKS (3) each way. Race 2 Cracking line up here. LINCOLN LOU (8) reads up really well for his first crack in the west and he has got the toughest draw against a good field but still think he can get the job done here. DUNKALLEDY (2) was impressive in his WA debut, has a better draw to work with here. ART IDEAL (3) won well from the breeze last run and think he will be driven aggressively again for the top. DAMAGE DONE (5) also has an abundance of early speed but is coming in fresh. RUMBLE STRIP (7) is very talented and must be respected. MAJOR DISCO (6) is consistent, but this looks another tier up for him and comes in fresh. CAPTAINS CREEK (4) will face a good test to see where he is at. Tips: 8 7 2 3 Suggested Bet: LINCOLN LOU (8) to win. Race 3 Open race. WATCH ME WAVE (2) has the early speed to lead and has options from there, she was bolting before jostling to get out and that may have taken away her sprint late when finishing fifth, should run well here. If they look to take cover in this race it could be SONIC CHIP (3) who can bounce on the lead, he’s a good rolling type and last run was more encouraging, heading in the right direction and this appears suitable. RISING SPIRIT (8) is racing soundly, may benefit with a senior driver on for this assignment. SIR BELVEDERE (4) can get a reasonable run and has got good closing speed. FIORD (6) will be running on with horses like YOU FLY WITH ME (5) and OURFIRSTIMPRESSION (12) but they all require some luck with their respective racing styles. Tips: 3 2 8 4 Suggested Bet: WATCH ME WAVE (2) each way. Race 4 THE WAND WAVE (2) has the speed to lead early over the stablemate REELEM INN (1) who trialled well and obviously has that good draw. The former may look to try and lead and control this race. ROCKIN LE MONDE (3) was horribly unlucky last run, won’t be far away. SOHO CONFIDENTIAL (4) can run a better race here, can do some work in his races. EYE BETTER (8) and BETTOR HAVE FAITH (9) both had no luck at Narrogin, will be getting home strongly here. BELLA RAGAZZA (10) is ready to win but needs luck from the draw. MAJOR CLASS (12) is the one who is back to his best and has the depth to make moves when required. It’s another open race on a tricky program and through that you need to play the value, wherever that may be. Tips: 12 2 9 4 Suggested Bet: MAJOR CLASS (12) each way. Race 5 VINTAGE BLU (12) has hit a purple patch of form, he had been unlucky for a few runs before coming from last to win a race similar in nature last Tuesday, no reason he can’t do it again, but the price will be shorter tonight. GALVINSTON JOHN (2) has the speed to lead and should give a tonne of cheek in this. ELIZABETH AITCH (9) has the ability but with her quirks due to inexperience she will be probably driven more on the conservative side, and it could get hard from the draw. ZIGGY VERMEER (4) should settle close enough and is a novelty chance with many others in the field that just need some luck to feature. AMARETTO ANGEL (8) has the ability but normally needs to be on speed and looks unlikely from the draw. PHILTHEJUG (10) is a novelty hope with CRACKA TINNY (1) due to their draws. Tips: 12 2 4 10 Suggested Bet: VINTAGE BLU (12) to win. Race 6 Good battle in the early stages here for the lead. JILL MACH (2) is normally a reliable beginner, and she’s hit the line with vigour in her recent runs, both in mobiles and now back to her beloved standing start conditions I think she has options and can run a big race here. AMERICAN CRUISE (1) needs a safe beginning but with that he should settle close enough, same said for TARTAN ROBYN (3). GREVIS (8) is second up and this is a suitable grade for him. FRANCO MECCA (9) has been knocking on the door in recent runs and looks a decent chance in this. NORTHVIEW DANCE (10) is first up and has the class but bumps into a deep race. CHIVALRY (11) has come back well but the handicap won’t be easy to overcome, he can definitely do it though. Tips: 2 9 11 8 Suggested Bet: JILL MACH (2) each way. Race 7 GELSOMINO AMAL (3) finds a suitable race to get back to her better form, she can work to the top here and could see her run a big race. THE FIRST CUT (7) is racing well but faces a task from the draw and same can be said for FILLMYPOCKET (6) both haven’t been known for doing their own dirty work. LILLIE QUEEN (8) bombed the start last run but made a heap of ground and was brilliant in my opinion, keep her very safe here. BLITAR (9) will be getting home well but the draw hurts. JUST BETTY (10) can improve. Tips: 3 8 7 6 Suggested Bet: LILLIE QUEEN (8) each way. Race 8 SOMETHING CERTAIN (7) looks to have a perfect race for him to break through, he has very good closing speed and back to maiden grade looks ideal. JUST A PONY (1) has the nice draw again and did things wrong last start, first up run was good and can get back to some better form in this, keep safe. PRINCESS DIAMOND (2) nicely drawn and has shown promise, should perform well and has options with no back line. THE ULTIMATE BEACH (5) was sound in his last run which was first up for the new stable, novelty claims to him GRIN DESTINY (4) and ROCKSTAR QUALITY (8). Tips: 7 2 1 5 Suggested Bet: SOMETHING CERTAIN (7) to win. Market Market
