Matt Young’s Saturday Bunbury Preview Posted on August 15, 2025August 15, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 TRIXIE DORA (5) is a talented type who narrowly missed out on a run in the Diamond Classic and outside of Wishing Belle, she would’ve been right up to the rest of the fillies, she stretched the neck of El Mystro and looks very hard to beat in this race. CRUNCHNSIP (7) continues to improve but will need to be a big run to win from the outside draw, has talent. PET SHOP ADDA (1) creates interest on debut with a strong stable, but the trials haven’t been overly exciting. STRELETZIA MISS (2) had no luck last run and effort was good, could run into the money but one to follow in future runs. MISS LEOPATRA (4) looks to have talent but still learning the caper, can figure. ALTAS LAST (6) wasn’t disgraced in the Diamond Classic, better suited here. KOH I NOOR CAMEL (9) will be running on, continues to improve. Tips: 5 7 6 2 Suggested Bet: TRIXIE DORA (5) to win. Race 2 JAMIE KIM (4) has an abundance of early speed and is a major chance to ping across and lead here, he was brave after over racing from the breeze last time out, distance will suit and can win this. DENNINGTON HEIGHTS (1) creates interest, looks to have speed but trial wasn’t anything to write home about. DREAM CONTROL (7) comes in fresh but has been racing well and is very consistent. DEE JAYS BIG BOY (8) will get a lovely run and expecting him to run on strongly from the rails run. SUN AND SAND (9) a novelty chance, likely dives to the peg line and THEYCALL ME STOOGE (12) is racing well but this barrier over the 1140m looks very difficult. Tips: 4 8 7 9 Suggested Bet: JAMIE KIM (4) to win. Race 3 ROCK ME OVER (7) was brave in defeat last time out and likely to be driven like the best horse in the race and looks to be too strong for them late, ready to win. FLYIN DISCO (8) overall goes up in grade but was luckless last run and shouldn’t be too far from them. ARTFUL MAJOR (6) was able to lead and then won easy last time out but overall looks a bit more challenging for him. BETTOR MOVE ALONG (5) comes in fresh, may need the run but can still figure in the novelties. TA IN ADVANCE (2), LORD PUBLISHER (3) and SKIPPIN CLASS (4) all novelty chances. Tips: 7 8 6 4 Suggested Bet: ROCK ME OVER (7) to win. Race 4 Open race here. SWITCH BLADE (3) gets a nice draw and strikes a suitable grade, don’t expect him to be too far from them and can play a part. DONTWAKEMEUP (4) has been sound since returning, could be short enough given the stable she is coming from. SUGAR BOO (5) has come back well and looks an each way chance. ALTA KING (7) returned to form last start but won’t get the luxury of leading here. PRINCESS DIAMOND (8) still learning but shows promise, wouldn’t surprise to see her threatening. HES THUNDER (2) a place hope. Tips: 3 5 4 7 Suggested Bet: SWITCH BLADE (3) each way. Race 5 The fillies step up to the longer trip for the first time and it creates interest, even more added to the fact that 3 of the fancies are returning. RUBY LOVERA (7) gives the indication of a horse who can handle the longer trip, being first up I wouldn’t imagine they would drive her over the top but will rely on her class. Same story for REINETTE (9) who has brilliant closing speed, won’t be far away. ITS MAA TIME (2) is third up and will likely be driven aggressively, I think she can lead and although don’t think she’s returned at her best, think she can get a good time of it in front and be hard to run down. BULL SHARK BETTY (1) will get the run of the race and be very dangerous up the Breathe Accounting Sprint Lane. MANHATTAN RUBY (6) faces her toughest test and is first up, novelty chances appear best on return. Tips: 1 2 7 9 Suggested Bet: BULL SHARK BETTY (1) each way. Race 6 This is a very tricky race with a lot of horses out of form, one that isn’t is VELVET SHADOW (6) who has been consistent and don’t think he will be too far away, normally steps well and can run the trip. GOLD HORSESHOE (8) is the best horse but not at his best, this grade suits and expect to see him improve in this. ROCKNROLL NUGGET (1) can improve from the draw and has some claims. LUKES MISTAKE (2) can improve with IDEAL SECRET (5) who had excuses late last run. I SEE FIRE (7) will be thereabouts; he is consistent. Tips: 6 8 1 7 Suggested Bet: VELVET SHADOW (6) each way. Race 7 Intriguing race to finish. THE RIZZLER (7) didn’t really enthuse too much with his last run and has the wide draw to overcome the draw, same can be said for CAMEL PLUS (6) who has shown promise but raced a bit flat last time out, both are capable but need some improvement. PIPERS PARADE (1) is improving and has the draw and should run well. WRITE RITE RIGHT (8) had every chance last run, dashed up but failed to finish it off, will get the perfect run again. BOOM IT UP (4) has had a few chances and will be there at the business end again. TAYLORS BOY FRED (9) a novelty chance. Tips: 8 1 4 6 Suggested Bet: WRITE RITE RIGHT (8) each way. Market Market
