RACE 2 No.9 Rioli

Tipped this one a couple of weeks back which was a ‘throw at the stumps’ knowing he’d give away a decent start. Well he certainly did that going back to a clear last and staying that way until well into the straight. He only secured clear running late making up good ground in a short space of time. He’s worth another each-way ticket tomorrow, his wide draw should suit as he needs to be brought right to the outside with clear running where he can make use of his strong finish.

RACE 6 No.6 Zoustyle

Surely the days highlight is the Concorde Stakes where we see this potential Queensland star travel south and take on a top class line up of Group 1 sprinters. Whilst he is 6 for 6 they have all been at home against inferior opposition however he can only win and he’s been doing that with consummate ease. His recent 9 length trial win was all done in first gear. Could Surprise!

RACE 8 No.2 Te Akau Shark

Massive wraps on this Kiwi raider who has been so impressive in his wins back home. Only lightly raced having had just the 7 starts he’s won 5 of them and on those occasions has shown a very impressive turn of foot powering past his rivals. His first up run at Te Rapa although beaten was terrific running on from an impossible position back in the field. He’ll measure up to these and I can’t wait to see him!
