Chris Nelson’s Kembla Grange Best Bets

RACE 3 No.7 Criminal Code

Kathy O’Hara links up with champion trainer Chris Waller on this middle distance galloper who steps up to 2000m for the first time this campaign. His only start over the trip was at the end of his last prep when just over 2 lengths behind Harpo Marx who is currently in top form. Happy to pot the favourite Ziegfeld who is rising sharply to a trip he’s yet to race over, in fact 1600m is as far as he’s been!

RACE 8 No.1 Tiger Of Malay

Winner of the Group 2 Sires at Eagle Farm two starts back before a gallant third in the Group 1 Atkins same track a fortnight later after a tardy beginning. Liked his recent trial in a heat restricted for Group and Listed winners finishing off nicely under no urgings. Plenty of weight however he’s earned it and just looks to have a bit on these.

RACE 10 No.2 Rule The World

Wasn’t the best to leave the gates first up and as a result settled last. Still back there at the tail until well into the straight he picked up steadily over the final 200m making good ground to the line. Overall he recorded the quickest final 400m of the race and the equal fastest final split of the entire day. Bowman sticks, better gate, goes close!
