Chris Nelson’s Hawkesbury Best Bets Posted on April 26, 2019April 26, 2019 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Best Bets Race 2 No.5 Chalmers Kris Lees trained galloper who should be peaking at his third run back from a break tomorrow. He hit the line strongly first up at Newcastle in a heat of the Provincial Championship over 1200m before again closing off solidly up to 1400m last time out at Randwick in the final of the same race. Stepping up to the 1500m trip tomorrow he looks perfectly placed to break through. RACE 7 No.2 Military Zone Another one from the Team Snowden yard who looks a great chance in tomorrow’s Hawkesbury Guineas. Resumed at Gosford recently when beaten out of the placings as an odds-on favourite however the run was terrific. Not the best to jump he settled well back in a leisurely run race before closing off very strongly recording slick sectionals to the line. He’ll lap up the additional 200m tomorrow. RACE 9 No.10 Handfast Hopefully we won’t be looking for a ‘get out’ bet tomorrow however if it’s needed this one could be it. Comes out of the same race as Military Zone (above) last time out at Gosford also making ground against the tempo. Strikes a good surface again tomorrow which suits as well as the additional 100m, doesn’t win out of turn however this appears very suitable. Quaddie 1, 6 2, 5 2, 3, 4, 11 2, 3, 9, 10 Market Market
