Chris Nelson’s Eagle Farm Best Bets

RACE 6 No.9 Garibaldi

Yes, he had every chance at Doomben last start in the BRC Sprint when given a perfect ride by Glen Boss. He just didn’t find the line out to the 1350m trip and we now know at this stage of his career he’s best kept to races around the 1200m range. That’s the case tomorrow and I’m expecting him to bounce back in good style.

RACE 7 No.2 Converge

Without doubt the eye-catching run in the Sires Produce here a fortnight ago. He drew a very wide gate and had little option than to drift back settling down second last early on. Looking for room in the straight pushed through a gap near the 200m unwinding a huge finish to just miss on the line. Can go one better from the ideal gate tomorrow.

RACE 8 No.11 Vega One

Wide open Stradbroke this year where luck in running is going to prove very important. This Tony Gollan trained galloper won the Kingsford-Smith in sensational fashion slicing his way through the field with Jamie Kah masterfully guiding him through the gaps. He needs to be held up and likely will be from that inside draw, once again he just needs a crack at them late.
