Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on October 16, 2020 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 2 No.2 Clearance Sale Lightly raced Gold Coaster who shows very good ability. Ridden back his previous two starts for a 2nd and win that was the expected scenario again last start however with no speed on early jockey Ben Thompson decided to push him forward to sit outside the leader, challenged in the straight he showed good fight to forge clear late. He looks well up to Saturday grade. RACE 3 No.6 Montez Heavily supported at Eagle Farm a fortnight back he found a good spot in the run however the pace was so solid up front no sooner had he hit the lead in the straight the swoopers were unwinding with their finishing bursts and proved too strong late. This one held on well for 3rd considering and the drop back in distance tomorrow won’t harm at all. RACE 9 No.9 Fasano Should all the on-paced runners go around in this race it may well be set up for something to run over the top of them all late. This Robert Heathcote trained galloper fits that category well as he’s always strong at the end of his races. Given a freshen up and dropping back 100m won’t harm his chances. Look for him late at good odds. Quaddie 1, 5 1, 5 3, 6, 10 1, 2, 9, 10 Market Market
