Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on March 1, 2019 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 3 No.3 Ready To Roam Only the one start to date for this Tony Gollan trained youngster when running into the stablemate Garabaldi at Eagle Farm on debut when racing tight near the 200m. Liked the way he picked himself up again running on strongly albeit without threat to line. He trialled well here on Tuesday winning without being pressured and can break through tomorrow. RACE 5 No.2 Defence Missile Very consistent 3yo who has had zero luck drawing a decent gate at his two starts this prep. He pushed on and was subsequently caught wide when not far away first up before going all the way back to last second up when making ground down the straight. Jeff Lloyd jumps on tomorrow from the inside draw which is going to make a huge difference. Great each-way value. RACE 8 No.6 Mr Marbellouz Quality sprinter who finally comes up with a favourable gate tomorrow. Drawn wide both runs this prep he pushed on last start to settle behind the eventual leader/winner Spurcraft. Although never looking like running that one down in the straight he stuck to his task well and was taking closing the margin late. Drawn gate one tomorrow he’ll lead and from there will take plenty of catching!
