Greg’s Friday Ascot Preview Posted on March 17, 2017March 17, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 FLOYD looks a promising sprinter who should take care of this line-up. His maiden win at Northam was full of merit as he parked wide the trip and he has been tuned up with a nice trial win. SNOW LORD looks the danger off the back of a soft fresh win up the Pinjarra straight and Pike rides. VEGA DIOR has looked good in her trials. MISS SOMEBODY next best. Numbers – 1 -3 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – FLOYD WIN SuperPick - Race 1 No. 1 FLOYD - Profit Plus – 25% (Win) RACE 2 MONEY MAHER showed ability in both his two career starts last campaign including being a moral beaten at Pinjarra (Saturday metropolitan stakes race). He’s been tuned up with two trials and should appreciate the 1200m. PURE GEM hit the line strongly on debut. COGNAC was forced to do a mountain of work on debut. With a softer run he can improve. ATHLETE has looked a nice type in his trials. Numbers – 4 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – MONEY MAHER WIN RACE 3 The former kiwi trained mare TALITA looked good in a recent trial win. If she can get off the fence into clear room she goes close. JUST LIKE THAT was run off her legs first-up. The increase in trip looks ideal. PRINCE WESTON ran well on debut. IMAGINARY has claims. Numbers – 12 – 13 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – TALITA AND JUST LIKE THAT RACE 4 PERFECT ROSE should appreciate the rise in trip and with Pike going on she gets her chance to break through this campaign. KWAHAJA won a similar race last week and with a strong expected tempo again he goes close. DELANTERO was solid in the same race last week. TRAP FOR FOOLS can give a sight in front particularly if he can settle a little better. Numbers – 7 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – PERFECT ROSE AND KWAHAJA RACE 5 COMPELLING was luckless at Bunbury. Pike goes on and she should appreciate the rise in trip.. MOUQUET is a tough and grind away on the speed. BON SIGNORE looks close to a win. ROSEWOOD HILL next best. Suggested – 6 – 4 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – COMPELLING WIN RACE 6 BORDER SCOT should derive plenty of benefit from his first-up run and from gate 1 he can park just behind the speed and get every chance. RECOILED drops sharply in grade and he should be able to burn over from wide and race prominent to the speed. MR AFRICAN is bursting to win a race. LE PATRON has been consistent all campaign and the blinkers go on. Numbers – 1 – 5 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – BORDER SCOT AND RECOILED RACE 7 TOUCH OF SILVER was a strong last start winner in a similar class of race. He just needs to repeat that effort and get clear room to go very close. TONKATUFF has ability and was a first-up winner last campaign. BEAUCOUNT is hard to catch but his first-up effort where he parked wide was full of merit. SECRET DOUBT looks the other winning chance. Numbers- 4 – 3 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – TOUCH OF SILVER WIN RACE 8 HARPOON has been a very frustrating horse since moving to WA. She’s yet to win but has gone close on a few occasions. She does appear the danger. IN DA HOOD will need to use some early fuel from a wide draw but she showed plenty of toughness last week. SONG OF WAR looks well placed. CRINKLECUT is close to posting a win Numbers – 6 – 11 – 2 -9 Suggested Bet –HARPOON QUADDIE Race 5 – 3, 4, 6, 10 Race 6 – 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Race 7 – 3, 4, 8, 9 Race 8 – 2, 6, 11 Bet Now
